I have seen several conversations about him joining the team as a coach. So, Saturday I paid close attention as he discussed LSU during his segments during the game. My conclusion on Mawae is that he is awesome! He diagnosed and broke down the weaknesses in LSU's defense with precision and calling offensive runs as they were in progress. Could you imagine his Oline with Cam Cameron calling the plays?

I remember an SI players poll back in the day or something of that sort asking players which current players would make great coaches and he was way up there. Seemed to have tons of respect from his peers

Yeah, he is down to earth, from here, an expert at OL, a hof'er.....I think he could/would be a monster recruiter for us.

Doesn't get much better than that. I wanna know who is going to be running core6 in January too. Hopefully mawae stay in town for something on staff now,

Make him a special assistant, particularly in charge of coaching centers.

Him coaching porter, pocic (for now) and then KJ Malone ... I really think it will make waves with O-line recruits.

Guy knows his football and seems like he would be an excellent teacher and definitely a role model

I think he ends up on staff at some point in the future. He is obviously attending a lot of practices and may even be helping unofficially. He was telling us what plays were called on the replays on several TD runs.

He was always a guy tabbed as a future coach, even when he was a college player. I'd be thrilled to have him on staff.

Mawae is my all time favorite Tiger.

Kevin Mawae, IMO, should be the future of LSU football. move Stud to recruiting coord. to make room for Mawae as oline coach and when LM moves on...Kevin Mawae moves in. brilliant mind and the staff he could build with his extensive league contacts would be top shelf and just what we need to counter balance sabama.

get rested, get better, get ready...get even.

Watched part of the game online and Mawae's reports were right on. If not a coach, BR media should take notice that an opinionated former pro player and Tiger would be a breath of fresh air on BR radio.

I'm sure he would be better than our current o-lineman coach. I guess my only question can Mawae take his knowledge and success on the line, and transfer it into talented players we bring in to LSU. Coach is more than just knowing Xs and Os. Can you manage players and turn them into the players you need them to be.

Considering he is a HOF center, it makes sense he has insight to defensive alignments.

On topic: announcer......hell, I could see him taking it to a high level (ala ESPN).

He will do whatever allows him to positively influence young people in doing the right thing with their life......now, that could point to coaching.

Only he and Tracey know

Halman player, and people thought we didn't have talent before saban.

Which goes back to saying you can't win on talent alone.

Wouldn't mind him replacing Stud. I'm about tired of seeing Stud here tbh. Need some fresh blood for oline coach.
