Who was that team that almost beat us a year or so ago by running the option? Georgia Southern or something like that?

I'll take it you didn't watch the LSU game last night.

Furman is an awful football team.

They gained under 200 yards.

What do you want them to gain?

Did you watch the first half" Seriously? It was a shitfest.

The second half, LSU played like they were supposed to play vs a very bad FBS team.

nah. one game in an off year is no harbinger of things to come

So, you were OK with the season we had last year, three losses, losing in the Chick -Fil-A? That was a "on" season for you? Then you should be satisfied with the program. For me, it was pleasing when we were in contention for championships. Not winning necessarily, just considered as a contender. This year, LSU could possibly finish fifth in the SEC West. Perhaps that's not things to come, that would be what it is.

our fans are not as demanding as people say. some fans are still so shellshocked from hallman/archer/dinardo that they are willing to put up with just about anything. our fanbase is closer to uga than auburn/alabama in terms of expectations.

Good thing 2 halves = 1 full game

Is you reading really off today or just being obstinate? Not sure at this point.

5th would be about right, this isn't a very good team. It's a very average team with 4-5 very good players.

The talent isn't there.

Sorry but if we win great. If we don't, it sucks. Either way we need to fire Less and Chavis.

Piss poor troll attempt.

LSU will still be a strong program either way.

Yep. Same dude said he thinks Kiffin would be a good replacement for Miles. He wasn't kidding.

Bama gets to break in a new QB next year, AJ has been outstanding. Things will reshuffle.

They did this with McCarron in 2011 and we had two seniors. Things certainly did reshuffle.

An LSU win next week would change a lot of minds. Saw this happen in 2010. I think the odds are more stacked against LSU this year though

Wait til next year. It's the true rebuilding year. Hopefully some recruits are ready to get some early playing time.

I agree. Your 3rd sentence will tell more for "LSU program implictions" than anything else (IMO).

We will lose many/most of our current playmakers for next year's offense.

Next year's defense will still be a big question.

Recruiting may not help. Rebuilding next year? Indeed. Probably so.

This year - all we can do is play them out.

Doesn't look good against Alabama, but you never know.

A&M???

Don't overlook a supposedly "bad" Arkansas. Like Ole Miss, they always seem to play LSU tough...

One game at a time. Such an overworked expression.

Nonetheless

Exact same thing was said when AJ took over for McElroy and guess what happened?

They won the NC

Blake Sims is pretty bad though, we already know that. Granted he might not even be their starter next year.

Can we win, sure. Will we win, doubtful. We'd have to play better than we have all season, and that won't be easy against the best team we'll play all year.

What I'm wondering is, if we lose, how will the team respond? Will they pack it in against A&M and Arky? If we win 2 of our last 3 games, there is still a chance we could get into the Cotton Bowl. I just hope that the fans will show up in force to support the team in our final 2 home games.

Win it and the Swag is back, and optimism will reign.
Lose it and the gloom and doom will swamp the LSU culture.

I am optimistic by nature. I am a "Les Miles guy". I celebrate wins, and shake off losses. I view LSU through the prism of JOY, have followed it as the single great passion of my life since I was seven years old. I went to games with my Pops and late brother as a wee lad. I went to The Prince Murat on Nicholson with my allowance money to watch the pay per view game against Bama in 1982.I wept when we beat Oklahoma for a BCSNC in 2004. I lived on the LSU campus for five years of my life and know every inch of that campus. I tailgate and socialize with people I went to school with. I bring my children and teach them the dying PERSONAL ETHIC of making noise, supporting LSU and staying until the very last play of the game.

That said, this game is a harbinger of things to come. We either right the ship, punch them in their arrogant-redneck faces or we get our arse beat and take a seat in the third row next to Georgia and Oklahoma. Period.

Either way, in two weeks, WE FIND OUT WHO WE ARE.

I AGREE WITH THIS.

Except I would add a Bowl win is nearly as crucial. Or more like another bowl loss would be devastating.

BEAT BAMA

Win the bowl.

Really concerned about recruiting implications
FightinTiga your concern is also my concern. I wonder about the recruiting and the last few big ones on the board. Bama takes two or three from us then this will be the tell all.
