The story will be about the interference call, but what a dumb decision

To throw down to third right there? You never throw behind the runner, he was already there. What a stupid decision
Posted on 10/26/13 at 11:08 pm to Tiger1242
yea that was a terrible decision

Behind what runner? It would have been close. Middlebrooks has to stop that ball.

whats even worse is middlebrooks not catching it. It was very catchable

Throwing behind the runner is throwing to a base when the runner has already made it. Craig was already there, even a perfect throw he was going to be safe

Almost like déjà vu there.

Lol you have no idea what throwing behind the runner means. Throwing behind the runner is when you throw to a base the runner is returning to.

Not having a force out at all bases was the dumb move actually

Yea, idk why they didn't walk him.

If referring to throwing back to a base after a pitch or at the end of a play yea. But it also can mean throwing to base even though you don't have a shot to get the runner.
Doesn't matter either way, what matters is it was a terrible decision, and then equally terrible to not catch the throw

I said that Salty should have eaten it, but after watching the replay, he thought he had enough space to shoot him...

This is the only way I've ever heard throwing behind a runner referenced.
You're right, a perfect throw doesn't get him, but that happens a lot in baseball. It was close enough to warrant a throw, especially when the guy running has a bum ankle.

As soon as his feet went up, my son called interference, and he's 10.
