That's the word. I suppose she'll get to voice her opinion and have some say, but she won't be running the whole show.

He fricking panicked and didn't see the long term. Car salesman mentality.

He had a clear shot at the team and wouldn't go an extra $25-50 MM. Stern was smart. He wanted Benson all along because of the resources and the obvious tie-ins with the Saints and downtown development.

Had nothing to do with panic. Dude was looking for a chance and constantly threatening before it.

An eighty year old with a billion dollar asset and what I'm sure is tens of millions more in other interests panicked? Guy has always been a jagoff when it came to bleeding every nickel he could out of the state. I remember an infamous press conference he gave around 2000ish or so where he quipped 'What about my grandkids?!?!' as if they were somehow in danger of ending up paupers.

Yes. Or acted impulsively. Whatever. I'm not in any way saying the guy is noble. He just saw the short term and didn't think the city would recover sufficiently.

Unfortunately I'm not sure if Benson understands how to win in the NBA. It's the same thing I said about these acquisitions in the offseason. Spending big to get these above average free agents is a good way to wind up 8th-10th each year and not go anywhere.

As Simmons said it best, you either need to be really good or really bad in the NBA. I hope Benson learns this.

Flame away.

Seven games in so we don't know much at this point. We're just yapping on a message board, myself included.

Biggest Monty dissident is me. But we gotta give this team until around the break to tell. We've played pretty bad but we're 3 and 4.

I doubt Benson has another head coach lined up and waiting to pull the trigger. If we make a change, I suspect it'll be around the break and will be an interim coach.

We need more than an adequate low post presence. Jason Smith doesn't even go in the paint on offense.

I don't know. Honestly, I think it's highly doubtful that there would be a coaching change during the season unless the FO knew they could pick up a name like Karl or a Van Gundy (not endorsing either one . . . just using as an example).

And traffic on this board will start to decline from there until certain big games.

People should look at the standings. The entire league is basically in the 4-3, 3-4 range.

Everybody, including us, is still figuring shite out.

Yes, a couple of these losses have been disappointing, but its happening to everybody right now.

Doesn't matter. There are a few cases of "confirmation bias" up in 'dis bitch,
