It didn't take that long at Bama, so your pt is unfounded.

Agree with this....This mentality has destroyed the Auburn, and Florida programs. We don't need to let it destroy ours.

NFL is more level playing than college. He was an absolute joke. Go check out his record. Big 10 sucks I know. Saban lost to big 10 Iowa, another less talented team. Ohio State seems to be doing pretty well in the Big 10. Not sure what your point is. My point, Saban has lost to less talented teams just like Miles has. Only difference, Miles has never lost coaching here to 2 teams as pathetic as UAB and UL Monroe. Any coach with any kind of sense can with a lot if games when you have the resources to get the best talent.

What you guys are refusing to see is that those facts back up the opinion that Saban isn't necessarily a better coach than Miles (hence their head to head record is so close),

That close record will continue to widen as it includes the first years of Saban at Alabama when he was rebuilding.

he's just in a much better situation.

Can't agree with that.

Tell me what other program would have been given that rematch after the 2011 season?

Agree 100% that they should not have played in that game.

Disagree with this. Sorry but I've not seen the continued clock management debacles from Saban as I see from Miles.

It's what happens when you put a good coach at one of the powerhouse schools. Look at what Urban Meyer is doing at OSU.

Like Rich Rod to Michigan?

The school has something to do with it but ultimately it is the coach.

Then why didn't DuBose, Franchione, Price, Shula, and Kines win big at Bama?

I just told you my point. You can't compare a damn Mich St to LSU or any other powerhouse SEC school. Different athletes. Saban wasn't goona win no NC there. As for him losing to lesser teams your gonna lose to teams that you should beat when you're trying to build something, but once he got it to where he wanted it. Has he lost to lesser teams since??

Dubose, Franchione and Shula all won 10 games in a season at Bama, as did Bill Curry. Dubose was no better a coach than Curley Hallman, but he won an SEC Championship. (Price and Kines coached a total of one game between them, so they don't really count.) None of those coaches would ever sniff 10 wins a LSU.

There is something about Bama that makes coaches have better records than they would elsewhere. I don't know what it is, other than the complete devotion brainwashing their fans have (and I lived here during the Stallings and Shula years so I have seen it). They simply don't turn on their coach the way LSU fans do. The OP's data should remind us of the complete meltdown the LSU fan base had after the 01 GTHOM, 02 Auburn & 02 Alabama debacles.

Miles has weaknesses, and they tend to show up in HD in our living rooms. But Saban isn't coming back, and Miles has a pretty good resume against him. Remember, other than the tragedy in NO, every LSU-Bama game since 07 has had a lead change in the 4th quarter. Yes, Miles failed on the highest stage, but other than that he has held his own. I'm not even ready to write off this year's just yet.

Their overall PROCEES is better than ours. There is NO debate on on that. There are no "weak leaks" in that program like there are in ours. There's no difference in the physical talent on the field between Tuscasloosa and Baton Rouge. The difference is on the sidelines and up in the press box.

The REAL butt hurt is coming from totally delusional LSU Pumpers with their heads buried in the sand. This thread is one of the more amusing ones I've seen on here and that's saying a lot. It's truly funny reading all the comments over a few Saban blips on the radar when he was at LSU. That was history. Ancient history. Currently, it's more like "Ancient Aliens" vs "Ancient Neanderthals."

If you think these guy's records are comparable to Saban's at Bama, then I don't know what to say. But it may be why you think Miles is comparable to Saban.

Miles would have a few more NC's more than likely if not for Saban at Bama

Sux but at least we compete with them better than 95% of the country does.

But I agree...nobody turns on a coach more than LSU fans do with Miles

Nope. Urban had two in 6 years. Things might be different at other SEC schools as well. Miles has 1 in 9. His one was between the two that Urban got at Florida.

Yes...he destroyed it.

Some of you, man, need to look outside of baton rouge and Tuscaloosa, its a big country out there. We are still lucky to be where we are.
Just because everyone in baton rouge hates our coach, guess what, lsu is one of the most respected programs in the country. Outside of one school you are obsessed with every school would trade for our success year in and out.

But yes..destroyed it

No, we are not. We are in the tier just below will never be in that "respected" list. It's a caste system of sorts. The 2003 LSU national champs of Sabans were screwed with the SC nonsense (similar to what Saban did on SEC Champ game day in 2011). LSU played by the rules of the time and got in the NC game. The media bitched how it screwed SC but they never much about LSU would have been screwed if roles were reversed.
In 2007, we got damn lucky, but we lost to two teams that went to bowls. SC lost to 31 point underdog Stanford as one of their two losses. Much of the media focused on SC being "better" than LSU. No respect shown to LSU.
In 2011, we played a brutal schedule that included beating the PAC-10 Champs and the Big East Champs. Alabama had a weak schedule out of conference and their one big game was LSU at home. We beat them and what happened. LSU got a redo for Bama because the PAC-10 champ had two losses and the Big 12 champ was Oklahoma State that is in a tier lower than LSU. ESPN, at the request of the BamaSEC office had Saban on to insure they got into the NC for a redo if LSU beat Georgia that day. If LSU had lost the SEC Championship game it would have been Alabama verses Oklahoma State. There is no way in hell they would have had two SEC teams that didn't win their own conference be in the NC game. Had Alabama won on 1/9/12, it would have been OSU and Bama. No matter what, Bama was going to get into the NC game because they are in tier one and run the SEC.
Hell, look at what we got in 2005 when we won the West in the aftermath of Katrina. fricked over to Chick-fil-a bowl with two teams in our division that we beat going to better bowl games. Last year, we beat newbie aTm and South Carolina with a close loss to Bama and Florida. Georgia lost in the SEC Champ game and finished with two losses like we did in 2005. We got screwed with those three going to better bowls and we got chicken again.

If we were respected we wouldn't be treated like shite by the conference. We aren't respected because we have a coach and an AD that don't stand up for LSU.

We aren't respected more than bama. I never said mOst respected. Nationally lsu is a very respected program. But once again, its not true to you because you want to compare it to one school

Yeah it has nothing to do with an incompetent coach, it's all about Saban envy. There's a long list of coaches out there other than Saban that can get a team ready to play an inferior opponent with injuries and not get shutout at the half and can figure out how to get a play called in time.

Oregon could run about 15 plays in the time it took us to have a TV timeout and then a Les Miles Timeout
