I agree with a previous poster that adding a late Monday night or Sunday night game would be a much better solution.

The league has also abandoned the Sunday games in December when college football is largely off. I don't understand that. Those were fun games in the mid 2000's that we don't get anymore.

I am not positive but I think Friday is the worst night in terms of television ratings.

Because of high school football and people just generally rather go out on Fridays after spending every night at home.

Put a quality NFL matchup on this Friday and people will watch.

the NFL product becomes less appealing year after year. putting more suck on prime time ain't the answer. they need to get steroids out of ever level of football and have it played by normal sized men again, not super roid infused freaks. They also need to contract about 6 franchises and actually have enough talented players to fill out every roster.

That, plus the shitty rules in place now make it nearly unwatchable.

Posted by Bench McElroy I don't know why they don't just play games on Friday. Three days is not enough time to prepare for a game and it really affects the quality of play. I can't remember the last time there was a really good NFL game on Thursday night.

I believe the NFL has an agreement that they won't play on Friday nights so as not to interfere with high school football games. It wouldn't be bad late in the year however, when the high school season is over.

Why can't they do like the NCAA does and schedule the TV slots 2 weeks before? There are always several shitstain primetime Sunday and Monday games at the end of the year.

I figured so. It's still frustrating to watch two teams on MNF that were supposed to be good when the schedule was released that are battling toward 6-10 seasons in Week 15.

just look at this week's game on MNF.

the Vikings vs. the Giants.

who would have ever thought that they would have just one win between them?

on the flip side, I'd love to see the Seahawks-Cardinals play on MNF instead of Thursday night.

I think with ARZ playing pretty good defense, the game could be pretty interesting. Still think the Seahawks will win but you would have a division game in primetime. The Thursday night matchup is better this week.

kinda sucks imo.

Goodell is a genius.

Americans are addicted to football and more games = more money. We will watch no matter what.

I'm sure a lot of people felt the same way about boxing once upon a time. Even though the NFL is king now, it doesn't mean it'll last forever.

It will be for a long long time. It caters to our short attention spans and it is probably the only sport that is just as good, if not better, on TV than seeing it live.

to everyone who posted in here...how many of you have watched at least one thursday night game this season?

they wouldn't be doing this if the ratings were low.

I don't watch it, per se, but I have it on in the background.
