Bassmaster Angler Jimmy Johnson Shot Dead

A tournament manager for the Bassmaster Opens said a friend of Johnson's told him that Johnson was shot after he found someone burglarizing his boat, Bassmaster.com reported.
The shooting happened before 8 p.m. Sunday at the Motel 6 off Interstate 55, police said. Johnson had been shot in the face, police said.
Johnson's wife was staying with him at the motel and was inside the bathroom when the shooting happened, according to a police report. She was not injured.
