I actually have a PDF version of the guide that we received during that course. You are welcome to it if you want. I can dropbox it for you. Its crude because I scanned it at work here, but it may have some good reference info.

I will do naughty things to you.

my drop box email is taylork37@gmail.com

From the outside looking in, you guys have to meet dates on deliverables and it may require you to work OT sometimes. Granted, your name is on something that could kill someone should it fail.

I probably overstated a little

Actual study time was probably 8-10 hours

My advantage was that my day to day job was doing problems very similar to the test, so I just started doing more hand calcs at work and using fewer programs/spreadsheets for a couple of months prior to the test

It was studying while getting paid

To be honest, my current job besides small portion of the exam has nothing in common with what I would find on the PE.

As is the case for most people

I was just really lucky that I got to do a pretty wide range of stuff at work

I almost didnt take the structural afternoon test bc I heard it was the hardest

After looking through example problems, I was all like, "frick, I know to do that, derp"

Some of it is older. I took this test almost 4 years ago. But its good material.

Also, you are welcome to the Justin Timberlake album that is in there.

Engineer/Project Manager for a design contractor that does distribution line design for the power companies up here.

Its actually a lot more mechanical and civil than power.

I am basically getting my PE because its a another name to put on bids.

I do really like my job though, despite it being not what I studied.

ETA:

With that said I am literally getting tested on stuff that I did almost 6 years ago in college.

I will also take the JT album.

You are awesome, thanks.

Thats cool. I dabbled in that a bit for my company, but I currently handle transmission design and substation design.

UL Lafayette didn't even have a power program. I never learned three phase power. I had to learn that at that prep course. And symmetrical components. I don't ever use that so its gone.

Thats cool. If you don't mind me asking, what company do you work for?

That is a pretty abstract concept if unfamiliar. I learned all of it at one point, but I honestly don't remember a lot of it.

Its a utility company. I can tell you the exact one in an email if you want to know.

Check into that testmasters course. They may have one in your area. It was about $2K for the course and they went through everything from simple circuits, to 3 phase, to line impedance, NEC Codes and engineering economics. They gear it toward how to take the test and efficient ways to get trough it. www.testmasters.com. Not .net.

ETA: LINK

They have electrical courses in Columbus, Cinncy, and Dayton (im assuming you are in Ohio).

Ahh, so I most likely wouldn't know it. No worries.

I might have to do this actually, I'm in CBus. Thanks.

They guarantee pass too. If you fail it, they let you take the course again free. If you put in the work, you won't need to take it again.

if we can get BT, D Poot and maybe Penn, I have a couple of guys and eli and you...we should be able to form a formidable Domi/Ground War squad. Don't be alarmed by my .75 k/d. I cap flags like nobody's business.

ETA: And Hardcore Domi is fun as frick. But we can play regular for you noobs.

I usually go for flags as well. I'm a bit over 1.

Usually run a 1.6 or so but haven't played this game enough to build

On blops 2 it got to where we only played hardcore dom.

The 1-2 bullet kills was more realistic.

I'll make a capture class for quick running, smoke and trophies.
