These 2 quotes show me you are just a "Dave guy" as do the rest of your points. Which is cool too. To each their own. I just never liked his voice.

And again anyone who bashes the Black Album is just doing so because they "sold out". Which I never agreed with. They were just too good for people to catch on finally. And musicians have different musical tastes than the rest of us. They always look for weird shite. Everything they covered they made better. Breadfan (who the hell is Buggee) and Turn The Page? Covering turn the page shows he can sing. Maybe he wanted to sing and not just scream all the time. I am sure it is helpful during a show to have a Turn the Page or Nothing Else Matters to give the voice a break and keep playing.

You're probably still mad that they cut their hair.

Just a 'Dave guy'? How about just someone who appreciates good songwriting rather than being in the bag for one particular member of a band.

Oh, horseshite. It's all about the music. I could give frick all about how many albums someone does or doesn't sell. It's like when a bunch of Tool fans called them sell-outs for sighing with a major, and like Mayard says, they can point that finger up their arse.

The Black Album is shite because the songs are atrocious. Lyrically it's lame, the arrangements are clunky as a worn out gear box, and it's one big cliche after the next. It's also the album where James first affected that god awful, overly emotive singing style he's used ever since.

They consciously went for a more mainstream sound, not more weird. And no, musicians don't have different taste than the rest of us.

Budgie is one of the most awesome heavy rock bands from the 70s. 'Crash Course In Brain Surgery' off the original Garage Days EP was one of theirs. This is my fav:

Who gives a frick about hair? It's all about the music.
