Oregon is awesome... I wish we had more Oregon coverage.

Hell, USCw (currently an inferior program) gets more run on ESPN IMO.

How are they promoting Oregon when they are too busy having an anti-LSU bias?

That A&M defense could shut Oregon down easy.

They scored fewer points against Nicholls State than ULL did.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH they're SO good.

Every year you get suckered into them and every November they choke.

If it's easy to stop the Oregon offense, I wonder if they would be willing to scrimmage LSU during the season. Could help with defensive confidence.

This is not an ESPN conspiracy. Everybody buys their horseshite every year. They score 59 points against an outmatched, demoralized team and the voters go bananas. And then we hear the "THIS YEAR IT'S DIFFERENT!" cries. And then Stanford comes to town and they can't score 20 points. And then they score 76 against Wazzu or somebody like that two weeks later and then we hear the "THEY DESERVE A MULLIGAN!" cries.

It's the same shite every year, and it's not just ESPN.

Without them no one on the west coast would care about college football. They like the west vs east/south play

What?

Could not be more correct.

All it takes is for a tough, physical defense to knock them out of their rhythm, and they are screwed. They simply cannot grind it out when they are being forced to do so. They have to be flying downhill at breakneck speed or they are completely lost. The Stanford game last year was a perfect example of this.

Also, we hear the same shite about the defense supposedly being better every frickin' year. Never comes to fruition. Oregon's great for 10-11 wins/yr, which is a high level of success. But until they learn to be a little more versatile/physical on offense, they probably won't win all the marbles.

I witnessed the slaughter of this poor UT team in person. Yeah, they are still working to get their shite straight but it was Jr High vs NFL on a speed comparison:

By far this was the best part of the game:

The fans apparently have learned to tailgate a little. Nice to have good restroom facilities built into the exterior of the stadium instead of portapotties.

No shite, that team is legit, they have been building for ~ 8-yrs or more. The speed on the field was unreal and true frosh TE #83 was beastly. There is no way the LSU D's body of work thru the UGA would have beaten UO the game I was there. UT's offense is terrible and they are rotating 3-4 walkons in on O and D, but they couldn't even make good special teams decisions that day. UO might win a MNC this season. OTOH my UT buddy said it was the first UT game he ever left at halftime in 25+ yrs of attending games and he got to listen to all the fans laughing about the SEC and all I could say was, "thanks for the discreditation, bro". The bus service for offsite parking was outstanding. Parked about 8 miles north of the stadium at the Symantec lot, got dropped off at the stadium, got picked up at the stadium and returned to the lot in roughly 10 minutes, hit the interstate back to Portland, all good. Beats the shite out of many of the parking snafus trying to leave SEC games. 100k > 57k, but the offsite services are very well run.

I have been to Autzen 8 or 9 times in the last 20 years. And while usually on the wrong end of the score I loved going to that place.

They are always the best at providing a game day atmosphere. Easily the best in the conference and rival most SEC schools. Oregon State is a close second at this, the rest of the conference not so much.

It hilarious that OP is feeling threatened.

I have been to close to 30 college venues, I thought it was very nice and got loud as shite for 57k attendance. My friend was being a bitch about UT's noise at Neyland and I was like c'mon dude, it is loud, and I have been in Neyland for 4 LSU games. Great trip including summiting Mnt St Helens two days before the game. 3rd time to OR (not UO) and enjoy it every time.

The deal about them only scoring 20 or whatever against good teams and how that automatically disqualifies them from being elite...

meet LSU 9 Bama 6

If they lost a close game against a good team here and there, it doesn't mean they're not legit.

We lost to Clemson last year and have up 44 last week. Be more open-minded.

I wish they would pimp the Oregon secondary more.

This is my homeboy from HS, Brian Jackson. 5th yr SR, 2nd year starter and before that he was a special teams head hunter on par with Vinnie Sunseri.
He's easily one of Oregon's best players on D, but assuming ESPN shuts up about Oregon's O and takes a second to mention the D all they talk about is the D-Line.
Kid is a straight baller, worked his arse off to get where he is and deserves to be pimped, so if ESPN won't do it then I will.

wrong.

A few years ago the Oregon Ducks, a/k/a the Phil Knight Flock, purchased the rights to use the Walt Disney Corporation Duck (WDC) image.

wrong. There was an agreement with Walt Disney in 1947 to use the image. Not a few years ago. In 2010, the Oregon Duck was separated from the Donald Duck trade mark, which is the opposite of what you said.

wrong. The Oregon - Nike connection runs far deeper than Phil Knight. There are many other prominent Oregon alumni running Nike. Tinker Hatfield ring a bell?

But most importantly, Nike profits off the partnership. It's great business for them.

It is what I have been saying all along. They are an extension of a very sophisticated marketing machine called NIKE. Even Uncle Phil expressed in his latest shareholder meeting that winning the BCS was the only thing "he" had left to do. They will even put a player on a billboard in the middle of Times Square to promote the slowest QB to ever play the game as a Heisman candidate.

If any of the other top 10 teams right now spent just 25% of the money the Ducks do to market, the Ducks would be sitting at 8, maybe 9 in the polls.

The Ducks can only win a ROSE when a USC or Ohio State are on probation, since Ohio State usually shows up in the Rose. SEC teams would wait for them on the corners, easily control them vertically, and Mariota is certainly not known for his passing skills.

Hey lil' petite Duckies, come git ya' some!!
