USC is not as good a job as many like to proclaim it is. It's a great location and recruiting is easy, and they've certainly got some history, but it's not a great college football job.

There's a reason they always have to settle for #8 on their coaching hire list.... because very few people want the job. Even Carroll was a dud hire, although it ended up working out great.

Sumlin to USC? Yeah, Sumlin's gonna leave the excitement, passion, exposure, and money of the epicenter of college football for the West Coast and a dead-end USC job that has fallen off of college football's radar? Not gonna happen. Sumlin's got A&M poised to compete for the SEC title the next few years and then he'll be able to choose whatever NFL job he wants if he decides he's ready.
