The thing is, aminu isn't a very good offensive rebounder. He just fights his own teammates for defensive boards all damn game. Aminu will improve this year though in the uptempo offense. Count on it.

Farouq 1 better sf and pf than Udonis Haslem, Nick young, Earl clark ? That's what the consensus seems to be

I really wish we could have signed him to more than 1 year. He keeps playing these 1 year stints waiting for the big contract. Great role player imo.

This is not backed up by any data I've come across. If you have the numbers, I would love to see them. According to this, Aminu being on or off the court had the biggest impact on how well the team and their opponents rebounded last season.

Offensively, yes. But if people think this team needs Aminu to be a threat on offense to compete for a playoff spot, they don't know what they are talking about.

Aminu can't do anything with the ball other than dunk it or turn it over. That's not good, but that's why they have Holiday, Gordon, Evans, Anderson, Davis, Morrow, Rivers, Smiht. Aminu is there to rebound, play defense, run the floor, and cut to the rim.

He can be an excellent rotation player (7th or 8th man) just by doing those things. He's an outstanding rebounder (tied with Davis with 10.2 PER 36) and a good shot blocker and stealer for his position. If he can continue to learn how to play defense, he can be a solid NBA player for a long time.

Q-Pon at 210. Aminu>QPon

and 7.5% is an incredible Offensive rebound percentage for a SF so the stats aren't backing you up, there.

Aminu was 3rd in the NBA among SF starters last year in Offensive Rebound rate behind Faried and Marion.

Why don't you take a closer look at the link I posted.

Yes, Aminu has a mediocre OREB%. Yet the team has its highest OREB% with him on the court. Likewise team has its lowest OREB% when he is off the court. How do we explain that if he is so mediocre at OREB?

And the taking rebounds from his teammates thing is nonsense. The team's DREB rate is slightly higher with him on the floor than it is with Davis on the floor. Is Davis fighting for rebounds with his teammates too?

Chief has got some big flaws in his game. His rebounding ain't one of them.

Ad had almost 1 more oboard per game in similar minutes.

Aminu probably rebounds better than anderson and whoever else was playing sf last year. I've always thought he could "makeup" for anderson playing on the perimeter with his rebounding.

Rebounding is a huge concern for us. I'm excited to see how it all works out.

Top 200 player ?

aminu can't shoot worth a shit, but he plays pretty good D and rebounds really well. i'm excited for him this season with the additions. he won't be forced to shoot much at all. he will be able to play that Ariza role, only better and cheaper.
