If I was the Czar of hiring for both schools it would this simple...

Texas
• First Pick - David Shaw
• Second Pick - Art Briles
• Value Sleeper - Kirby Smart

USC
• First Pick - James Franklin
• Second Pick - Mike Gundy
• Value Sleeper - Bobby Petrino

I get the SC connections to him, but I highly doubt he goes the college route.

I still think Morris ends up at Texas. He could be a head coach now, but turned down NC state. Just because he lacks head coaching experience shouldn't eliminate him from a job where he would kill it. He's from the state, has coached in a big time program and been the driving force in one of the better offenses in the game.

Muschamp had never been a head coach before and he went to a top 10 school after proving himself as a great defensive mind. Morris has done the same as a great offensive mind. As has Gus (I know he was a HC for a year, but he was back in Auburn like 8 months later)

It cracks me up that people believe any non-SEC school would be a better, more attractive job than the top SEC schools.

If Miles or Saban left their schools for Texas or USC, I'd question their competitiveness and consider them lazy. There is no higher standard than an SEC program that is willing to put in the money and effort to win championships.

Wow.

Sell some junk, buy a bus ticket and get out of Mayberry more. It's a big world out there.

Urban Myer left florida for ohio state and don't tell me he didn't.

especially at saban

dude loves to build programs

if saban could get a NT at UT, he'd go down as the best NCAA coach ever. 3 major rebuilding jobs turning sleeping programs back into top 5 powers would be one fricking hell of a resume. i don't think he goes, but that's exactly what he likes to do

miles is way too comfortable here to leave, even for the #1 job in UT. i'm no huge miles cheerleader, but i don't think the advantages of leaving are worth it to him. he finally has his saban-level OC/DC combo, and neither seem likely to leave, either. he also has grown comfortable with LA's high school coaches, TAF, the media, and his cult status with the fanbase

Saban would be lethal at Texas, he'd definitely get a title there.

If Miles didnt go to Michigan (twice), he's not going to Texas, and he sure as hell was never going to arkansas.

And if Saban didnt go to the Browns, he's not going anywhere either.

But both agents will be in talks and come out with nice raises.

Some would say it was because Meyer is scared of the competition of the SEC. Many other people would say OSU is a better job (itt may be, it may not be), but it is also where Meyer has wanted to be for a while.

I just laugh when SEC homers can't see that there are good football players and teams outside the conference. I knew the SEC overall would be worse this year because they had the most kids drafted EVER last year. You can't do that, and have the conference as a whole improve. Certain teams will be better but with that mass exodus there has to be an impact on the field

Coaches like to be challenged.

Meyer did his thing in the SEC.

He wanted Ohio State.

Going to a Top 10 program all-time to achieve greatness isn't chickening out. In fact, it's probably more of a challenge to actually win the title against the SEC recruiting in the Midwest. It's not like he took the Bowling Green job with no plans for winning it all.

The only place i could see him going is back to the NFL. The Browns made sense due to his history there and the franchise history, which someone his age appreciates more than the can't remember 5 minutes ago crowd. He wouldn't go for just any NFL job, it would have to be certain, "presitgeous" or high profile jobs. Jets, Dallas maybe if JJ is ready to ceed some control again, someone like that.

If I were Texas, I'd throw 15 to 20 mil a year at Saban.

You're guaranteed a top 10 recruiting class by having no head coach. With Saban, you'd win 2-3 national titles over 10 years

would be stupid and unnecessary, plus Bama would probably match.

why stupid?

you want to win and you have crap loads of money

you can pretty much lock up a few NC's with Saban at Texas

May as well just send Saban a check and let him fill in the amount.

Saban has been absolutely great at Bama; however, he only has 1 undefeated year. It took other teams losing in both 11 and 12 for his team to have a sniff at the crystal. He lost home games in both those years, and in most circumstances, that knocks you out of the chance to win a title
