what is there left to do in Tuscaloosa?

Continue chasing the Bear.

I think something that could be interesting if Hugh Freeze leaves Austin with a victory is if he is considered a possibility for some of these bigger jobs.

I think it would take a seriously big time school to get him out of Oxford.

Excellent question. I lived outside of jville during his tenure there. There is NOTHING about del Rio that says big time college coach. He's a complete dud. He'd be a horrific fit there.

I'd like to see Texas get Sumlin just for the Aggie meltdown.

They really should just hire Briles IMO

Really don't think Briles would leave Baylor at this time with our new stadium coming in next year.

Then again, the one school that I have been worried about hiring Art Briles is Texas.

I'd like to see Texas get Mike Leach and then watch the Longhorn meltdown.

Anyone else think Petrino at USC would be a very scary combination? His offense with CA talent would be fantastic to watch.

I think Gundy to Texas makes the most logical sense. A Poke fan that I work with literally said "Why would Gundy leave everything that he has at Okie State????"

Uh..how about prestige, more money, better boosters, better recruiting and an overall better environment?

Meh...I don't see UT hunting for Gundy.

My most logical pick would be [If he wasn't in the NFL] Chip Kelly. He recruited the state of TX while at Oregon. His offense would run wild with the top tier TX talent.

Conventional wisdom on some insider Texas boards after Muschamp left was that Chris Petersen would get the first call once Mack left. I'm not sure if that is still the case however. I think Franklin, Strong, and Shaw would all be good hires. Obviously there's Saban and there will be inquiries made - not sure how far they go.

I am almost positive it wouldn't be Muschamp (left on some bad terms because of some comments made about him by Mack supporters) or Miles (the OSU and Lyles stuff maybe...just have never seen his name come up from people who say they're in the know). A little surprised Meyer isn't on the list...I seem to recall that he had made some positive comments about coaching at Texas while he was announcing but maybe everyone thinks he's staying put at OSU.

Why is Del Rio considered a great coach?

Good question. Jeff Fisher, I get, but Del Rio?

David Shaw would be gold in Texas.

Is USC without the cool factor a better job than Washington?

Washington has a lot of tradition, massive resources, in a great part of a great city. They aren't near the recruits, but they don't have any intra-city or intr-state competition either. And except for Pete Carroll, USC hasn't been a real power in 30+ years.
