While I agree with you, I just don't know if Turkey has enough money to host the Games and not fall into an economic recession afterwards. I imagine there would be a lot of debt financing for everything besides the soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track facilities.
The Gezi protests certainly didn't help the bid, but as you can see from my signature, I don't have a problem with that

Oh god, they would be indebted to the hilt, but that haven't stopped the Turks before. Truthfully I trust them more than the Japs to make it work. The Spainards? Lololololol
