Interesting to see where he'd fall in with the likes of McCarron, Murray, and Manziel (is he draft eligible?)

Fiutak of CFN made this prediction back on August 6th:

Mettenberger will be the highest-drafted quarterback of all the projected SEC starters.

Out of those 3, ZM is probably the most prototypical NFL QB (although the prototype may be changing now with the likes of Kapernik, R. Wilson, RGIII, Cam Newton). McCarron wins and does everything pretty well, but he doesn't have the size and arm strength scouts like. Murray coming back for his senior year in a VERY weak QB class tells you all you need to know about the NFL's thoughts on him. Manziel is a bit of a wildcard as far as where he stands in the NFL's eyes (see aforementioned young NFL QB's)

To me, ZM is Ryan Mallet. Great size, great arm, inconsistent accuracy and touch. Will have some really good throws, followed by really poor throws to open WR's. He will stick a crossing route in a tight window, then overthrow/underthrow 2-3 deep balls. Plus he's not very mobile. He showed some improvement against TCU though. Can he keep it up?

Do any of those guys strike you as a QB that a franchise can build around? They may be serviceable NFL QB's with winning pedigrees at the college level....but ZM is 6'5 with a cannon. QB's like him don't come around very often. Nobody in the outstanding 2012 NFL rookie QB class has his arm strength. Nobody in last years draft class did either. He's also improved his awareness and footwork in the pocket.

I like Mett better than all SEC QB's named here . Only Manziels legs are better then what Mett has to offer
