He went on IR last Tuesday after the 3rd preseason game(when we had to get to 75).

"...linebacker Chris Chamberlain (unspecified) on the injured reserve list."
So that was Tuesday the 27 of Aug. and they still didn't know what the injury was, just that he wasn't recovering. I remember news came out later it was an ACL tear but that didn't come from the Saints.
So yeah I think he knew and didn't want to tell them.

if we don't know why he's injured and if it was a non-football related, would we get the cap $$ back? or is that all dependent on the fine print of his contract.
