"LSU brought great food & students trashed the place"-Dallasobserver

My son and I had tickets to the Rangers game Saturday evening, so I suggested we walk through the notoriously epic LSU tailgating festivities at AT&T Stadium prior to the baseball game. LSU fans bring with them hands-down the best tailgating food ever, and I thought I'd let the kid experience a little of the camaraderie and energy of a college tailgating scene. I'm thinking ahead a little: "See how great college is?"

The rich culinary traditions of southern Louisiana are celebrated, usually emphasized by whomever the Tigers are playing. Two years ago when they played the Oregon Ducks, there was duck meat in everything: duck sausage, duck jambalaya, fried duck. This year, with TCU's Horned Frogs on the platter, it was frog legs galore.

At this very spot, a group of LSU students had created a club of sorts, with a dance floor (under a tarp). Cops were starting to gather nearby. It was hot, there was so much debauchery in the air and kickoff was still two hours away. Long night ahead.
I'm cool with all that. One tiny problem, though: These kids trashed the place. Every cup, can, food container, plate and napkin that had been used for the previous four (five? six?) hours was just tossed on the ground. Real classy-like.

*This reminds me of what the lot next to Walk-Ons looked like after the Alabama game last year.

Pisses me off when people can't clean up after themselves.

they trash their own campus, why would anyone think they would respect someplace else?

Yeah, the whole trash issue at our own stadium even is a disgrace.
It is what it is. Sad.

This story is completely false - I was there and actually saw LSU students on their hands and knees picking up every stitch of trash that the TCU Horned Frogs left strewn about.
If there were so many cops around, why didn't one of them write a citation for littering?
The dance floor was actually a shelter for those less fortunate and LSU is always in the right.
JBeam, hope your kid enjoys college...in the big 12

Dallas Observer is just mad TCU lost. I agree stupidity follows every team in the nation.
Everyday people don't wash there hands after they pee or crap- You shake their hand right? I don't know why I brought that up...HA!

And Salmon, you would know this how?? I respect the great tradition of Montana football, but I don't remember your team ever playing in Baton Rouge. I would bet you are repeating something from someone who might have repeated something.....

Sorry for partying and giving people a job.

We have a very large tailgate for home games....sometimes over 100 folks and at the end of the night after we pick up the spot is usually cleaner than what we found it. I wish there was a way to punish the bastards who do things like this so it wouldn't ruin the fun for everyone who can do it responsibly.

We spent about an hour picking up trash at our tailgate. Just made it into the stadium during the National Anthem
One thing.. there were not enough trash cans around the parking lots

No way dude, LSU students are the only ones that leave trash. And it is every student too

Someone wrote a similar piece about our tailgate for the Oregon game. Before we left that night everything was picked up, but they took a photo at 6pm or so and painted it as if we left it that way.

That really is ridiculous. Don't do shite like that. Please.

Damn...if he thinks that's bad, he would be like the crying Indian if he saw UGAs campus after the 2008 South Carolina game.
You can still find pictures of it on google. Terrible...
