JJ was a dual threat allright

Hate on Jefferson if you want, but 12 rushing TDs and a 1000 yards rushing does describe a dual threat.

I like the kid, don't get me wrong, but Jesus Christ! Stuff like this astounds me. You really think that a true freshman that's never taken a snap in an SEC game is more polished than the 1st team All-SEC QB that's going to hold pretty much every SEC passing record by the time he graduates and an NFL QB? Get a clue.

I was referring to at this stage in their careers he looks to be a better passer. Going strictly off the QB battle between him and Mett where Mett was rumored to get the starting position until he had to cop a feel.

He is also better than Wilson was at that point. We are talking about a QB, if not for Mett who has played 2 years of college ball, would likely be starting by the fourth game of the year.

As strong as his fan club is, I'll bet he could throw a dozen and they will not flinch.

Doesn't matter if he throws 10 or 12 as a true fresh if he puts up 24 or 28 TDs. A typical good QB will increase his TD total while lowering his INT total during his first and second year of starting/playing.

Some reasons to this is finally getting adjusted to the speed, talent and schemes of the defense and learning the playbook. Others are timing with WRs, and becoming comfortable in the system.

But I do believe at some point before AJ leaves lsu he will be a candidate for the Heisman !

You don't have to be the second coming to be a candidate. Miller threw for 2k and ran for 1200 with 28 total TDs and he is considered the frontrunner. Three thousand total yards and 30 TDs on a good team will get you legit heisman looks.

If Jennings can go 2600 24 and 400 6 next year, he'll be a heisman candidate the following year.

Miller plays in a completely different system. Move along, kids.

lol what does this have to do with anything? Miles system with Cam will allow for option play and plenty designed QB runs, while also making the deep ball a huge piece of the offense. Don't forget that we'll utilize both the TEs and RBs a hell of alot more. Plus next year's group of receivers is loaded with 4.4. speed and height.

I'm not saying he'll turn into a redshirt freshman Manziel, Mariota, or Brett Hundley(3750 29TDs, 350 9TDs), but I do believe he'll have a better first year than any LSU QB. I don't think he will be anywhere close to Rohan's passing yardage, but I do think he puts up a ton of points.

Look, if you're going to compare Jennings with Rohan and J.J....stop right there. Neither of these guys really measure up as a true dual threat QB. JJ was not that much of a threat as a passer and Rohan was not that fast. R.D. was a pro style passing QB.
But the real critical difference coming in as a Freshman, Jennings is way ahead of the other two in the cerebral area...he's catching on very quickly according to Coach Cam. He just appears in every way to be on a different level as a total package at QB. Rohan will always be a fan favorite and JJ is one of the toughest guys to ever play QB at LSU. But Jennings will surpass both as a complete package much earlier that most QBs that have played in Tiger Stadium. JMHO...and you know I'm right, don't ya'.

the first time AJ throws an interception or fumbles a snap, this place will be entertaining.

He'll be just like any other freshman Qb at LSU, flashes of brilliance coupled with the occasional frick up. Rantards always want to crown someone way too soon.

Jennings is not really a dual threat like people keep tryin to say. He is a passer. Brandon Harris is more dual threat than him.

No comparison even happened. I'm talking what he could do statistical wise as a QB his first year. Outside of maybe 5 QBs, JJ had one of the best first years as a starting QB for LSU.

Dual threat QBs are great. I still prefer a pro-style, in the pocket QB, with an on target arm.
