Not even close. Bama by a mile! Especially with all the recent love for them from the media and SEC (1/9 rematch and scheduling issue we all know too well)

The hate for USC was absurd. At least Bama is a western division rival. USC...west coast team that hasn't played LSU in years.

In terms of the fanbase's hatred, is Bama on the level of USC circa 2003?

2 missed FGs is all that is separating LSU from being probable NCs the last 2 years:
1. Okie State miss vs Iowa State in 2011.
2. Alleman miss vs bama last November.

this is so stupid yet you keep saying it....ridiculous selective evaluation

Your opinion. The key word I wrote is is """""probable.""""""
1. If Oklahoma State makes that FG vis ISU, they are in all probability 12-0. There is NO WAY 11-1 Bama with no SEC title goes to the NCG ahead of unbeaten and Big 12 Champ Okie State in 2011.
Now would we have beaten Okie State? Who knows?

2. If Alleman's 45 yard FG hooks in vs Bama on 11/3, we lead 20-14 and WE have the momentum, not Bama. Plus, more time runs off, we kickoff, more time runs off, Bama may have started inside their 20. They had no timeouts.
Now would we have beaten Georgia in the '12 SECCG ?? Who knows?

All I was trying to illustrate is how truly close LSU is to accomplishing what Bama did the last two years. That's all.
That's why I 'keep saying that.' Because it's true.

I just never understood this. Why hate USC? We haven't played them in years and it was the media and the AP poll that caused the problem. I also think LSU would have beaten USC rather easily in 2003 so I already know who the better team is/was.

Bama on the other hand is a different story. They are a heated rival and root against them all the time. But I respect what they have done over the last 5 years.

My dislike for the school east of the state of Mississippi is such that I won't even say their name and when I see a local car/truck with that stupid "A" on it I have an urge to ram them. USC is nothing to me.

Hate us because USC fans think this is bullshite.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think this would have been an easy game for SC, but we were pretty good that year.

Sure you guys were real good. I just think in New Orleans LSU wins. Now the 2004-2005 USC teams were better than the 2003 LSU team. Then again I am not a USC hater. Ya'll had a great run for about 8 years. Not many teams can say that for that long a time.

Nah, brah. USC would have been a much tougher game than Oklahoma and LSU squeezed by them. You saw what SC did to Okie the following year. I honestly can say that I don't know if LSU would have won that game had they been paired up.

Mr. Dinkleman:

Can you purchase a shirt with the "Bengals and Bandits" emblem on your post? I think it would be very snappy. I would appreciate any information.

Thank you.

Tubu lt is obvious that you did not see the Oklahoma LSU game it was all LSU, LSU was Marching for the final blowout touchdown in the 4th quarter when matt, threw a rediculous interception then we played soft de fence to eat up the clock that game was not close to anybody who knows anything about football

The 2004 and 2005 Trojan teams had spectacular offenses, and maybe slightly above average D's. The 2003 and 2008 SC teams had the best D's I've seen at SC maybe ever. We'd need a really good D to beat a team like LSU because as the Vince Young Rose Bowl showed us, if they get a stop and you don't, you're done.
Good luck this season though, Tiger fans. I have a feeling y'all are being underestimated by the media just a tad.

Nothing comes close to my hatred of Alabama. USC is insignificant.
