Intern at BoA in London died last Thursday after working 3 days straight

He was a 21-year-old German foreign exchange student at Michigan's business school: LINK.
The cause of death is still undetermined, but whatever he was using to stay awake (Red Bulls, etc.) may have contributed to a heart attack.

Probably prior health issues. A coke bing can have you up 3 days. Many have done this and been fine.

Is that something that typically leads to a heart attack?
I've been known to work straight through the night and the next day if I am in a zone and have a big deadline coming up. It's typically not much of a problem and doesn't require much caffeine if I am focused.
So far I've never tried three days straight but wouldn't write it off if needed. But is this really a serious health risk?
