So, a bad 7-6 team the first year in a fairly decent conference is going to almost run the table. Either you are delusional or the conference sucks. I go former.

You lose to OU, OSU, Texas, and KSU....and possibly Baylor. By then you will be relying on injury and new player excuses.

im guessing ur o was just that bad last season.

i know this qb is supposed to be good. just dont think you guys have enough talent elsewhere

Our O was difficult to watch last season...especially after having a very good offense the previous few years. We went into last year returning 3 backs that rushed for 700+ yards the year before, expecting to have a very dangerous rushing attack. Then Ed Wesley declared for the supplemental draft for family reasons, Waymon James (my favorite frog and an underrated back) went out for the season in game 2, and Matthew Tucker battled ankle problems all season. That left us giving the majority of the carries to our 4th and 5th string RB's all year, making a true freshman our leading rusher. We were so thin at RB before ISU that we moved Boykin to RB that week to get some carries, and then Pachall decided he was only a couple blocks away from home so it'd be safe to drive drunk. Dumb. Had to use Boykin the remaining 9 games, where his inexperience and poor throwing motion got us in a lot of trouble, especially behind an inexperienced offensive line. Our talent last year was at WR, but we weren't able to get them the ball.

All said and done, I think we lost about 20-22 players that were on our 2-deep to off-field issues and were forced to start 75% true freshmen and sophomores. The defense shined as a young unit, but the offense just didn't do enough to help us win more games. But, even with everything we went through, we still took every game to the wire except OSU, and we got a lot of guys experience that normally wouldn't have, giving us a bit more depth this year.

As for our offense this year--obviously Pachall is back, which is a huge boost. Guy's got true talent. Boykin is said to be night/day compared to last season, so you can expect to see him in the mix somehow too. Waymon James returns at RB, and he's got NFL talent, Aaron Green finally gets to play after sitting out due to transfer rules--he was a 5 star and a top recruit out of high school, and we return Catalon, our leading rusher, who is most likely our 3rd string now. Receiver has a hole left after Josh Boyce left to be Tom Brady's new favorite target, but we've got some young talent with a lot of size and speed to catch balls. Everything hinges on our offensive line. If they can finally mesh this year, the offense can be its old self again.

Defense should be dominant this year. LB is our only concern, but apparently there are some young guys raising eyebrows at that position, so hopefully we'll be okay there. Overall, there's a ton of optimism in Fort Worth. GP said this is the best he's had since the Rose Bowl, which is nice. Last year was tough with so many personnel losses and youth, but that's football. They're all a year older now and we have some great talent back that wasn't available last year, so I think that 7-6 team is not what you should expect to see in 3 weeks. But that's just my take. Typed a lot because nobody has really explained in detail what we went through last year and what we bring back.

Can you blame them?

When one conference has won the last seven and eight of the last ten BCS titles, that conference is going to highly rated and always talked about.

I don't blame fans of other conferences for not liking it, but until you guys find a way to stop the SEC that's the way it will be.

Didn't think so. The Rivals TCU site needs to update their depth chart.

Don't you see how stupid it is for a 13th ranked team to be so overly confident against a 20th ranked team?

I personally have not followed TCU's Spring or Summer closely (if at all) but I respect the program, their rank by various coaches, and the history of college football that says that games are won and lost on the field, not on paper. One of LSU's best years was in 2011, and that was because LSU was a little scared of Oregon. Thinking that an opponent can beat you (fear) isn't always a problem.

Not so much against Oklahoma: 177 yards on 32 attempts 5 .5 yes per carry. LSU's rushing attack is more challenging and physical than OU.

Our Defense is among the best in the land... not so sure our rushing attack has been so good. Our offense has been below average on D-1, so how good could it have been?

The last we saw of a 4-2-5 was WVU in 2011. Not much of a challenge for us to score.

Different scheme. WVU runs a 3-3-5

Statistics cited from LSU's schedule playing FL, AL, SC, MSU, aTm, and AU. How many rushing attacks has TCU seen that had 3rd and 4th stringRBs go into the NFL? Not any in the 12.

If the frog d is so great, why did teams like iSU, TTU,OSU, and WVU score so much? And don't say that you gave the ball to anyone. Usually losing team fans say that. Credit your opponent when they take the ball from you.

They started a ton of talented Louisiana boys on the DL. They were true freshmen.

Their defensive line is basically west Monroe boys. Lathan, hunter, and McFarland are the real deal.

Correct me if I'm wrong tcu guys

So you think they hold LSU to under 150 rushing in this game?

Those guys should play a lot this year but Hunter was the only starter from last year. Hard to know right now how other players will fit in but Fields and Pierson will have DL starting spots nailed down. So will Hunter. Then Lathan, McFarland and a few others (Anderson, Tuaua, etc.) are competing for backup roles or the other starting DE position. TCU likes to rotate DL so they should all get a lot of snaps.

Hope so. That will be one of the keys to the game and is a focus of the TCU defense to stop the run first.

150 is a good over/under number. I have no idea.
