Didn't Vincent tear his ACL?
quote:I was out almost every night that year and i saw him almost everytime i went out... Great guy but loved the night life too much... Hell he never even got crazy, that i saw, at night. he hung out by the back side bar at bogies.
He also partied a lot.

In 2004 Alley Brousard came into his own, and he was pretty darn good. Also, soon to be first round draft pick Joe Addai was still playing.
Brousard had a knee injury before the 2005 season that put JV back in the fold, but then Vincent suffered a serious knee injury at the end of the season. I'm not finding specific details, but I'm pretty sure he tore a ligament.

RB 1: Blue
RB 2: Hiiliard
RB 3: Hill
So by the #'s our top two RBs are back.

he is essentially in a 'contract year' so if he's smart he'll come in a little lighter/quicker so he can inhance his draft status. if he runs smart, hard, holds on to the rock and solidly improves his yac he and we will do jest fine.
get better.
get better.

He needs to lose some weight, get down to about 218. He needs to have that quick step to the hole he has lost that last year.

Kenny will be back to form this year. Remove the pressure of 2 new babies and add the absence of Hill from the rotation. Recipe for a motivated H3.

He is just as good as Hill and you are foolish if you think otherwise.
I get not understanding the intricacies of techniques or X's and O's, but how can fans not just generally tell the difference between a superstar (Hill- our best RB since Kevin Faulk) and merely a good college RB (Hilliard)?

Idk about that. Put it this way, do you remember everyone whining how we never pass the ball with 8-9 people in the box? Yeah that's when mr. Hilliard went off. Tied Tebow with 3 TD's in the sec championship with no QB. Hill had zack, who threw for 300+ against Bama. No one was playing with 8-9 in the box which leads to a better running game. Is hill a awesome back? You better believe it. But there's no way you can say he's better than blue or Kenny.

Jeremy Hill is a lot better than Kenny Hilliard and Alfred Blue. Early in the game vs. Bama, he takes a run up the middle, spins out of a tackle, bounces it to the outside (the far-side as Jim Hawthorne would say) and gains 4-6 yards. You just don't do that against Bama. Unless you're a once-in-a-generation player. This guy has the talent to be better than Faulk, Diesel, DD, Addai, and Ridley. He's similar to Cam Newton only because defenders are noticeably hesitant to tackle him because they probably won't drop him with one hit, and if he bounces off the tackle, he's gone. I think it's Hill's speed that people underestimate. This is what makes him so ferocious running, because he runs by DB's when he breaks into the open field. Watch him on those runs. It's like he's getting faster and the defenders are getting slower. This is extremely rare to see at the college level, especially in our conference. He reminds me of Marcus Dupree as a freshman at OU. When he breaks free, he's like a ghost.. gone.

How badass would it be to have Hill and LF in the same backfield?
Posted on 7/31/13 at 12:34 pm to madddoggydawg
Can newton? Marcus Dupree??
You must not understand how having a QB opens up the running game. For another example: Georgia in the sec championship. Ran all over bama and should have won. Guess there rb's are like Walter Payton. Oh and A&M. Guess they have Cam Newton. Lol. Idiot. Besides LSU, AM, and Georgia everyone else was one dimensional. Bama got out played in 3 games last year and won 2 out of three.

I just don't understand why a fan would want to diminish the prowess of a truly great player on their team, unless it's just the easiest way for you to mentally prepare for the worst.

common sense knows he had a down year last year.

Bc u can't say he is a once in a GENERATION player off of one year. Regardless, character always outlast talent. And in his case, it seems as if it might just be another tradgic waste case. I hope I'm wrong. But A LOT of his success went hand in hand with metts success. Either way, talent is not a problem with our RB's. We all have our favs and opinion on who is the best. At the end of the day the truth is, they are all among the nations best and that's something to hang your hat on as a fan. Now our only concern is, can they stay healthy (Blue) and stay away from off the field distractions (hill legally and Hilliard planting his seed--which btw sucks for LSU football future bc he had two girls....basketball maybe??)?

Georgia has the best RB tandem in the nation.
You may have heard A&M happens to have a great running quarterback who breaks long runs, scrambles well, and can throw too. He also won the Heisman. Hated by most SEC fans for off-the-field questions as much as his domination on the field. Nothing like Cam tho.
