I'll never forget Saban leaving Ben Wilkerson in during a blow out in which he got hurt. That didn't help Ben make it to the NFL.

Don't act like you dont know who Will Clapp is...Bama wanted him bad too.

Of course he does. We definitely wanted him.

After he committed to LSU, and since I live near Brother Martin. I was thinking about putting up a sign on Elysian Fields that said "Bama gets rings, while LSU gets the Clapp"

But I didn't do it, because I have a life and shyt to do. But it would've been funny.

1. Have you lived in NOLA for a long time?

2. Were you a Bama fan before 2008?

It is foolish to assume that just because a team doesn't win as many games that all the coaches on the staff are incompetent at teaching things like basic fundamentals, schemes etc. Not to mention of course that the NFL coaches can also develop.

Exactly, Saban is the master at selling program and himself...

He is a great coach, but what makes him elite is simply the fact that he has better players...suddenly he is a "genius" ...winning feeds the "legend"

Put him back at Michigan State = no titles

I coached for 20 years and found I was a much better Coach with more talented players, BUT, could beat teams with more talent by being disciplined and fundamentally sound. Not all the time, though. Talent is tough to overcome.

Any coach that has an ounce of honesty in him will admit the players make the coach a genius...not the other way 'round.

Well, it's no secret that the teams that get the top recruiting classes are the teams who are always good...

Just like horse racing you got the better horse you win the race. Owner and trainer jockey are nice atifacts but it really boils down to who's got the best horse translated to football athelete player.

They were the leader because he just came from their camp.

He is the one getting the players, and surrounding himself with great coordinators. All traits of a great coach.

to me this has been the only real difference between NS and LM. I think Les has seen the light though and has been doing a much better job lately

Has to be a transplant wanna be.
