Why is everyone suggesting rivers to leave? Bust your arse and work for a spot...

Because that's a tough thing to do at a school with a bunch of QBs that are better than you, especially when some of them are younger than you.

He could go start somewhere else, unless he just LOVES LSU.

About what I figured.

I have no real suggestions.
He is 6'8, perhaps he could join the Tuba guy on the basketball team.

Jennings is going to be so fricking good barring injury.

All reports are that he is way ahead of his age/time. He is athletic, can move well in pocket, keeps his eyes downfield, is VERY accurate with sufficient arm strength, and most importantly is a GREAT kid that studies and learns the playbook like a seasoned vet.

I haven't been this excited about a QB at LSU since Josh Booty was supposed to be our savior. Lets hope it turns out better than that

If I was Rivers I would definitely leave now if that meant I could get another year. But if it didn't matter whether I waited until this season was over at this point, I'd stay and wait it out.

Jennings
Rettig
Harris

That is fricking awesome.

I mean playing time isn't the only factor here. Maybe Rivers just loves LSU and wants to say here even if he never starts a game.

If he does decide to transfer, however, it certainly would be understandable.

Yeah, but it would probably have to be a small school or one in a weak conference.

We were pretty happy to have JL when JJ got in trouble. While Jennings may not be prone to such things, we still have to worry about injuries. I'm quite happy to have Rivers stay. Everyone needs to STFU about him transferring.

Christ - I think it's going to be ok.

I don't think anyone on this board said that they hoped he would transfer. People said they wonder if he would transfer. That depends on what the kid has in mind for the rest of his football career, which only he would know. Don't be such a douchebag.

Not making a huge deal about it but lets be honest here. Everyone is talking about how he Should transfer, not saying "I wonder"...

Sure we have to worry about injuries. But, it shouldn't shock you if Rivers decides to pack his bags because he was passed up by a true freshman.

Also, I think everyone is forgetting how much a project Rivers was from the beginning.

Cam Cameron has used mobile QB's during his whole career. Even in Baltimore he would use them in packages. Expect to see Jennings doing the same thing. The best part is that he's very accurate in 20-30 yard passes and that will keep the defense guessing instead of stacking the box and playing the option.

I'm calm. It's just "STFU" was shorter/easier than saying "stop speculating".

But if Rivers were to read a thread where everyone is saying he should transfer, it's not really going to make him feel wanted (any possibly make it more likely he will transfer). Ergo... STFU.

sorry

I am a natural cynic and pessimist. Jennings is going to be so good though. I can't fricking wait. I really think he will be our first superstar QB in a long time.
