Just went to Toledo Bend last week with my Uncle who has been on the that lake for 20 years. This was my first time Carolina rigging and we did well with largemouth and Kentucky bass. He always catches consistent 2lbs or above using this setup. Of course he never uses a hard baits anymore, only "finesse" fishes with senkos, brush hogs, wacky worm style, etc. I've always Texas rigged my plastics but that reservoir is a different monster and now I see why people are fishing in the middle of the lake I know the spring/spawn is a different animal there...hell you can catch fish with a piece of bread but My question is: Does this setup work in our south Louisiana river system or is this just a lake type of fishing? Any of you guys had success here fishing Carolina in say the Spillway, Belle River, Verret?

Have used it with lots of success at Henderson on what those people call points. Basically, the entensions of the islands. Can't wait to do it again.

Drop Shot is where it's at. I just started throwing it this year. Very effective!

i've always done pretty good with the carolina rig on the bend, my problem is i don't get to go there enough to know where the best ledges and humps are...the next thing i want to do is get out there during the summertime and learn how to fish a spoon offshore
