This is what I do too. But I can totally see just throwing the hops in and crashing before siphoning.

Anyone ever have issues with hop matter making it into the keg?

I just throw mine in, usually in a hop sock...no more than one oz to a sock. Whole cones i put directly in with no bag as my throat on the glass carboy is narrow.

Thinking I'll just put a mesh bag on the filter before siphoning to the keg if I do chunk the hops directly in.
