Refusing to exact revenge for revenge's sake at the expense of the public good is called doing your job as a Representative/Senator.

You are obviously immature.

re: Robert Zimmerman: Tells DOJ "To Stop the Witch Hunt"

This will be the crisis that will not escape from being unused, and shall go on for months with the hate being allowed to simmer for the teeming ignorant masses to dwell upon. Obama and Holder will milk this cow until it dies a cruel death. The outcome of the trial is not what matters at this point, it is that the guilty verdict was not the result in the end. The chant of "No Justice, No Peace" at this point the only thing that matters and those on the left feel(pandering to the emotions) theirs is the one and true verdict in the matter.

re: Robert Zimmerman: Tells DOJ "To Stop the Witch Hunt"

quote:

I think that the state of FL when they embarked on their malicious prosecution

He killed someone. George claimed self-defense. Enough material facts existed to press charges against him. There was a genuine dispute over whether the killing was in self-defense. A trial ensued. He had his day in court and won. Not malicious prosecution

I understand that he's merely sticking up for his brother, but I hate it when folks improperly use legal terms.
quote:

I would remind the Department of Justice that a verdict has been reached in this case
I would like to remind Robert Zimmerman of the separate sovereigns doctrine. Remember Rodney King? The officers who beat him up were found innocent in state court but were retried and found guilty in federal court.

That said, I seriously doubt that the DOJ will bring an action against Zimmerman. All such talk seems to be a bunch of sabre-rattling and nothing more.

Here's an excerpt from Robert Zimmerman's interview with Piers Morgan:
quote:

- On Trayvon Martin being "armed" although he was only carrying Skittles and an iced tea:

"No, he was armed with the sidewalk. He was armed with his nose-breaking fists and he was armed with whatever aggression he brought to that moment. You know bag of Skittles or bag of M&M's or bag of whatever you want."

Why the special prosecutor rather than the already seated grand jury if the evidence was sufficient?

If a criminal defendant shows that the charges against him were false, a cause of action exists for malicious prosecution.

The jury's verdict was that there was no evidence of racism/ill will; therefore, the 2nd degree murder charge was false.

It is truly scary what is going on with this case. If this whole shitshow has provided anything remotely meaningful to the public, it's showing how truly corrupt and careless the media and elected officials are.

Sorry, that is wrong.

Probable cause existed to press charges on Mr. Zimmerman. The facts at issue were in genuine dispute. At any rate, actions for malicious prosecution are rarely successful. It is a very high threshold to meet.

Maybe.

A finding of probable cause is certainly a matter of opinion.

We do know that the initial investigators did NOT find probable cause, and we also know that the prosecutors chose NOT to take the case to a grand jury. Why not? The only reason could be that they were concerned that a No True Bill may have been returned.

Probable cause isn't a very high threshold to overcome.

I can only speak as to their actions during the trial, from what I observed. I'll put it in the nicest way possible---they were not very effective.

We also know that Angela Corey was perjurious when filing the charges.

I agree wholeheartedly, but the biggest problem was that the prosecution had a weak case. I think they KNEW they had a weak case, which actually explains to some degree the ridiculous way they tried to sew together an emotional appeal to the jury.

Didn't say he'd win. Just said he'd have a cause of action.

Enough to beat a 12(b)(6) and the discovery would be damned interesting.
