Living in NYC is the only other place in the US that is more expensive than SF. I feel for you.

I know plenty of people up there so there isn't any sticker shock on rent but still, when you go troll craigslist it can get depressing/downright hysterical, especially for already expensive single person living.

I lived very close to Hells Kitchen on 54th and 9th. I loved it.. great area to live. Accessible to tons of cool places, subways, the river and the park. 9th ave has a lot of good bars and restaurants.

Id also consider the upper east side. Buddies lived 89th and 2nd and I thought it was a cool area

Yeah, having my wife makes it easier and we have an awesome deal on a 2BR that I can't see us leaving anytime soon because it would be going full retard from a economic sense.

Coworkers sister is paying $2500+ for a 1BR.

Yeah the stuff I was looking at ranged from 1650 for a closet to 2600 for a bedroom with a closet.

The closet rental here in SF is just crazy. No way would I do that. I live in an area where rent is cheaper...but I've been seeing more hipsters in my hood. Scary thought.

My gf and I lived in a 3 BR, 2 bath and we paid $1200 for our bedroom. We shared a bathroom with one roommate while the other had her own bathroom, but we also had the bedroom with windows overlooking 54th st. It was about 1100 square feet

Yeah my buddies pay about 1300 and have a place in east village with a backyard. Renting single bedroom is more expensive regardless of city, on a percentage of income it's only marginally higher than what I'd be looking at here or what I paid in Houston once you account for other living costs. Nonetheless...

Yeah, I think my wife and I could get something pretty good for our money if we lived with others, but I like my privacy and we've never even considered it. Others taking my beer and medicine would end up being an issue.

FBD will have to wait until post tennis and will likely be an Envie

I will be heading to Madison this upcoming weekend for training. What beers should I bring back? I'm mainly a lurker so I know BMoney made a recent trip and haul back and also that Coater lays down the FBD mavenry in Madison. TIA.

Tallgrass 8-Bit, Oasis, Buffalo Sweat and Velvet Rooster are solid and not available here. Yazoo Hop Project if you like IPAs.

Good call Dean. & yes IPA's are my favorite style & caused the most damage to my pocket book during my 2 trips to Matherne's this weekend. I will pick up the Yazoo City and a few others.
