I've read that one and it's well written but it seemed like the author didn't really know how to end it.

The next part of my series goes up at midnight.
I wish I didn't have to wait

I think it would be better if there were some blood spilled already, maybe a campus legend you saw illustrated on the collage? I'm not really feeling the danger right now.

Relax a bit bud. My character had two creepy and yet minor experiences that seemed unrelated, now its escalated to connecting the two and not going overboard. Wait til Thursday. Things are gonna get real.

If you don't mind me asking, where are you planning to go with the story?

Thursday, while driving home, the creature is going to attack me and I will see it for the first time, and it will be terrifying. Also, I'm going to piece together that this thing has either been been slowly evolving from human to monster, or more than one person/thing is in on this.
In reality, it's going to be both. The Art Department is up to something, and it's sinister

It sounds intriguing, if done correctly. I'm sure you will do fine.

My big problem right now is getting people to read/upvote. The series might end up sucking if nobody will read some of these early on.
My hopes are installment 4 will be more in the popular spot for nosleep, and my title can draw them in. Hopefully they're intrigued enough after reading it to go back and read the first installments.
May be my only hope besides my followers here

As I said before, right now there's not really a hook to capture the attention. That doesn't mean it isn't interesting, it just means the reader has to hang around longer to be interested. I'm sure the next installment will be very interesting, and I will up vote it.

Yeah, the first two are made to seem more like individual stories that are nice within themselves, but not for a series. The series is supposed to be an unintended consequence.
In a way, if I do the fourth installment right and catch the crowd with the more typical hook, and then they go back to read the other three installments and see that this wasn't a planned series, it could help the series as a whole. Like you shouldn't catch the series until the fourth episode.

I think that's a fresh perspective, and if you can tie it together it will be well worth it. I've read lots of the no sleep stories, and after awhile they begin to run together. If you can introduce an air of uncertainty you will do definitely stand out.

I'm a creative writing major, which is probably the most useless major, but I know what make for bad fiction, having written a considerable amount myself. I'm also a stylist, which makes the usual no sleep thread hard to read. Pepper it with one or two memorable phrases, and the rest will fall in line.
