Cavemen based on the Geico commercials have to be up there. If they were edgy about it it might have worked but the cookie cutter crap they put out was awful. What else ya got?

The Big Bang Theory is a pretty bad premise imho, but they knocked it out of the park on the writing and the individual performances by the cast.

That show has the magic combination that others never come close to.

Diff'rent Strokes was another kinda meh premise that would never see the light of day in our current PC world.

Gilligan's Island

Odd assortment of characters going on a 3-hour tour with a ridiculous amount of clothing, money, and scientific equipment. The only ones who didn't have a change of clothes were the 2 that worked on the boat.

Seinfeld's premise had "failure" written all over it. A show about nothing? Yeah…good luck pitching that to a network in 2013. Fortunately for mankind the premise worked and we got 9 seasons of awesomeness. However in this era of instant gratification, NBC would not allow a show like Seinfeld to see the light of day.

That short lived William Shatner show that came out a couple of years ago "$#*! My Dad Says", that was based on someone's Twitter feed.

Hogan's Heroes - maybe not terrible, but a bit bizarre. It worked, though.

I thought The Office was a pretty bad premise at first, but by the final episode they made it ok and make sense
