Thanks. I admit, I didn't see Houston making these moves. I didn't even expect Harden to become the superstar he is now. It's good to see Houston making a comeback. I'll stick with my Pels, though. The Pels Board told me we are a #3 seed lock this season.

Oh, it's a done deal. I just have to go meet with Mark Jackson and Curry first. It's a league courtesy.

ETA: That reminds me. I have to tell Chris B. and Stein. Brb.

Tell the Pels board that they have no shot of finishing ahead of

OKC
Houston
Clippers
Spurs
Warriors
Grizzlies
Nuggets

That leaves them with a shot at the #8 seed, but I wouldn't count on anything with Utah,Lakers,Blazers,Mavs all battling the pelicans for that 8 seed. Just do what I do and remind myself, as a pelicans fan, that 2 horrible teams didn't want Jrue or Tyreke, and now they're suddenly superstars? Pelicans are still a bad team with a bad name. They were better off being horrible 1 more season with nerlens and getting another good young piece and praying to get a top 4 pick next year bc there are 4 franchise players in the draft next year if you add in randle and smart.

Eric Gordon is a great #2 if he's ever healthy, and Anthony Davis is a great defensive player with a bright future, but
Tyreke and Jrue are mediocre stopgaps at best. The pelicans are where the rockets where for the better part of the last few years, battling for that great #9 seed.

I like the Nuggs, but they are going to take huge step back this year.

Draft evaluations change all the time...Zeller was a franchise big last year.

he still is....thats why he went 4th, he was just the best player in a bad draft, I don't think anyone viewed him as a 20/10 guy but he should average 15 and have a nice jumper.

Why on earth would the nuggets regress? Bc they lost iguodala? They had the same roster the years before without him and were just as good. They finally have a coach who will use Javale

Lawson
Chandler
Gallinari
Faried
Javale

is a tremendous 5, add in andre miller, mozgov, evan fournier, jordan hamilton and anthony randolph and you have a deep and talented bench

You are naming people who couldn't even get off the bench last season. Gallinari is injured so Chandler moves into the starting rotation. Igoudoula is now gone, so someone else has to move into the rotation. Koufos is gone, so Javale moves in and that takes even more depth away. What made Denver good was the small drop off from the 2nd unit and they really don't have that anymore.

Also Brewer might be moving on as well.

They couldn't get off the bench bc they were stacked. Fournier and Hamilton are gunners, both are lights out shooters, especially hamilton. Denver will be fine. That is one tough arena to play in, and Faried/Mcgee are two beasts defensively down low

All they do is block shots. That's it.

Well I'm not going to crown them until they prove it on this level. If you watched Denver down the stretch, Iggy stepped up big time when Gallinari was injured. With both gone, someone has to fill the void. I think the will suffer, but we will see.

You're missing the point..he was the clear cut #1 going into last season. Now, by most viewpoints, was a BIG reach at #4. To frame your argument better, you're ignoring how far his stock fell this year.

No, they won more than they ever have in the 1 year they added Iggy to that squad.

Javale and Faried are a terrible combo together. Shaw has great potential as a coach, but you're overselling how great he is.

38 year old and a player, still unsigned, who has been a bust? (Along with the bust randolph) you're talking about two high potential guys in hamilton and fournier (who's going to start btw) but are SECOND YEAR players.

Denver's point guards can't guard anyone and will have to rely on a defensive anchor to QB for them. That's what Iggy and Kufos used to do for them.

So yes. I don't think they win 50 games next year, which would be a regression.

Scouting report on Faried:

Competes on defense but struggles defending post. Blocks shots but fouls often.

Javale

Minuscule basketball IQ. Blocks shots but takes bad gambles and goaltends often.

Look at any advanced stat, Faried and McGee are terrible together..

and I suppose the better team is the pelicans with Anthony Davis,Ryan Anderson, an oft-injured Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans who the horrible kings didn't want, and Jrue who a terrible Philly team decided was not worth gambling on an traded for an injured center with no offense?

Im a pelicans fan who grew up in houston but I just don't get the love pelicans fans are dropping on our team. Tyreke and Jrue are just guys who pad stats, neither guy has ever been a winner. Eric Gordon is a monster when healthy, and Anthony Davis has a bright future if he gets an offensive game. I just don't think Evans and Jrue were the answer, those guys are so mediocre, yes Jrue was an all star, which he wouldn't ahve been if wall and kyrie were healthy but whatever mehmet okur was an all star once, that means nothing.
