Does anyone know what time of year crabs start running in Belle Biver? Thanks.

I passed through there last week and there were several "live-for sale" signs out so I assume they are running now.

How do you know when it will be good. Is it time of year or the moon or what?

Must be running across their eyebrows or staches.

They're usually running this time of year. A few weeks ago they were catching them, but currently it has slowed down.

They should be running right now but aren't. We only caught a few little ones in our traps last weekend. We did buy some from a guy in Morgan City though and they were big and full.

Like he said, they were running about a month ago but when the water got high they stopped and haven't started back up yet.

Usually at beginning of June. My brother has some traps in Lake Verrett and it has ben slow so far. The power line that runs across Lake Verrett by Attakapas Landing usually is a decent spot for setting some traps.

It's been slow south of there, it's cyclical. I think it's the cool spring and high water. But they will migrate, seeing a ton of small ones around Bayou black, but not hearing much from palourde/verret area

I picked up some large & fat crabs from Vermilion Bay today. The fisherman said he would of had more but the weather was crappy.
