It's pointless, Fade.
Some here will never get it because they don't want to not matter how much common sense or facts you throw at them. I threw in the towel arguing about it with these people that are gloating over it.
What's sad is a lot of people are happy about this because now it gives the Xbone no advanatges over PS4 so all the consumers get this time around from both consoles is a slightly updated version of the PS3 and 360. No real innovations on the gaming front from either console now.
So glad I switched to PC long ago and I ordered parts yesterday to build an HTPC/Steam Box for my living room. It will be my new "console"
I pre-ordered Payday 2 yesterday for $25 and it's $40 on console to pre-order but people here are just worried about trading it back in time to get $15 for it.
Not only do I not have to worry about that to save $15, but I also get to keep the game if I ever want to play it down the road or they release some cool DLC a year from now.
Trade that game into Gamestop a year from now and you will be lucky to get $7 for it.

Im soooo glad that we preserved the shitty used games system with console games.
I got tired of trading in games for a shite return.
I'll be going with mostly digital purchases with the xbone.
Would consider pc, but I like the convenience of consoles for better or worse.

No. You're not biased.
I didn't run with anything. I clearly said "if" in my post.

I know. Just passing the time during my lunch.

and I get that too. Now that the DRM issue is off the table I'm sure we'll get the next talking point.

Like I said yesterday, I like the Xbox One less after yesterday's news. MS caved to the wrong crowd on this one and I really believe it will hurt them later this gen. The only thing keeping me on Xbox One now is Live and friends. The home theater features are very cool but it's something I could live without.

I'm with you Stout ... I do think that's what they wanted to do but because they couldn't express that well enough to ease everyone's concerns ... everybody panicked and demanded it stay the same.
I hope in time MS tries to implement the steam model by attracting everyone to use digital more ... I just don't know ... I am happy that they listened to us the consumer but I really don't know if we the consumer were right about all of this.
Just my 2 cents.

And see BECAUSE you make $15 back on a $60 game it at least gets you in the door to go buy a NEW game. People just ignore the fact that the money from selling games is coming back into the ecosystem n the Form of the purchase of a developers new release.
You're assuming that person is going to even buy a new game. I could buy used, rent, and borrow never giving a single dime back to the actual people who make the games.
You're assuming they won't buy a new game. It works both ways.

And whose to say Microsoft was going to 100% replicate steams model where discounted bundles were offered because of no used game market?
Exactly. People assume the publishers would magically drop the price of games even though they know people will pay $60 for a new game.

Outside of a few niche products, every company is trying to sell their products as cheap as possible while maintaining their margins. Why? Because the lower the price, the more you sell. Novel concept. I know.

I know what you are saying but you can play a ton of games on your TV now with a controller. Steam made an interface just for TV users.

As soon as people get over this stigma, PC gaming is going to be ideal for so many. The only real inconvenience is the initial build......to some, at least.

WalMart only grew into the worlds largest retailer by doing this and Amazon grew into the largest eCommerce site with the same principals. It's pretty simple that volume is where it's at.
Would you rather sell 10 things at $60 or 30 things at $30?

Which is why Gabe just needs to pair up with AMD or someone and build a Steam box.

That's what's inconveniencing me right now. :\
Anyone know of any open summer jobs in New Orleans right now?

I wish this were true.
I can't use a controller in multiplayer games because it puts you at a disadvantage against point and clickers. Then tons of other games don't even allow you to use a controller or it is implemented horribly, take MMOs for example.
FF14 is doing a goodjob though.

I have used a controller in tons of FPS games against KB/M players and do very well. Not everyone that uses a KB/M is very good at it.
I know others that use a controller all of the time on BF3 and are always in the top of the leaderboards. One of them posts here and used to put his gameplay on youtube.
I think the KB/M advantage is a little overrated.
War Thunder is the only game I have played where using a controller leaves you severely outclassed.

If you get good at it, yes, the keyboard and mouse crew can wreck shop. But it isn't automatic. Since I know I'll never be MLG, I just go with what I'm comfortable with. I went with a controller for BF3 simply because I could never get a keybind that I was happy with.

This is interesting
I'm not part of the master race, but I would have assumed that the auto aim like on most console FPS MP games would be needed for PC MP games if you use a controller.
Do any PC FPS MP games have auto-aim for controller users?
I just think about Halo where trying to shoot your teammates is nearly impossible.
Posted on 6/20/13 at 1:15 pm to taylork37
I truly don't know if an auto aim turns on when you select the controller option or not.
I just know that the gap was way smaller than the way it was portrayed on here. I can use a KB/M just fine but a lot of times I am chilling in my recliner playing and prefer to use a controller. I feel that I don't gain any advantages between the two.

I definitely play better on KB/M. I even prefer moving around with WASD I've played on PC for so long.
