Schramsberg was my favorite. They specialize in sparkling also so it's a good change of pace

My cousin owns J Rickard's winery in Sonoma Valley. There Old Vin Zin is fantastic. Small winery, but good people. Open Mon-Sat, 11 to 4.

Bella winery is cool--part is in the side of a mountain. Healdsburg is a great town to check out. Good breweries in the area also.

Are you looking for other recommendations? I had a blast in Willamette Valley. 20 minutes from Portland is a huge plus for other activities.

We really enjoyed the minibus tour in Napa last time. No driving and you can sample your purchases on the bus between wineries. Think it was $100 a person or so. They tend to go to the less popular spots with less traffic and nice scenery.... around Calistoga for instance.

Napa recommendations:
Wineries to see:
Cakebread
Stag's Leap
Chateau Montelena
Duckhorn
Jarvis
Wineries that didn't do it for me:
Artesa
Domain Carneros
Round Pond
If you can, try to eat at least lunch at Bouchon in Yountville. Morimoto has a restaurant in Napa proper that is very good as well. If you want to blow everything in one place on a meal, get reservations for the balcony seating at L'Auberge Du Soleil. Some of the best scenery in the valley.
I'm interested to hear what others have to say about Sonoma, as my wife and I are currently planning a trip in August.

Didn't see it listed, Cline. Great spot to sit and have some of their great offerings. I love the Mourvedre. You can pick it up in parts of LA now too.
Enjoy the trip!!!

Copain has a nice setup and great wines in healdsburg, merry Edwards, twomey west, arista, Peter Michael, verite, Selby tasting room, patz and hall, Sonoma Cutrer, martinelli, the list can keep going. These are all relatively near in north Sonoma.
