Love the WC Primetime idea for guys like me who won't have time to watch matches every single day

The tonnage of ESPN's 2014 World Cup coverage is going to please international soccer fans. Among the items of note: ESPN will broadcast all 64 matches live (and in HD) from Brazil on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and WatchESPN, and network executives said more than 280 original hours of soccer coverage will air across ESPN platforms from June 12-July 13, 2014. Next year's coverage will also include a new 90-minute postgame (World Cup Live) show after each match and World Cup Primetime, which will take large chunks of the matches of the day and condense them into a two-hour highlight show. ESPN FC, the network's new daily soccer show, will also broadcast from Brazil, as will segments of SportsCenter.

most important part is that they're in serious discussion with the GOAT, Martin Tyler.

I was impressed with their coverage during the last tourney. The "branding" with the music, cut scenes, and story filled intro's was great. I also liked their 30 for 30 styled pieces as well highlighting storylines broader than the tournament itself.

Now they need better studio guys.

Yep. Guess I'm bad at reading
Definitely thought they were the same thing.
Pumped for the highlight show though.

I wonder what time the games are going to be played in the day. Most of Brazil is just 2 hours ahead of Baton Rouge.
And I agree with HH about the studio guys. I like Bob Ley and Roberto Martinez is solid. Same with Macca. I don't like Lalas but at least he can form sentences, unlike Gullit, Ballack, and the Deportes guys who are forced to speak in their second language for some reason.

probably ismilar to the confederations cup plus maybe an 11 am or 10 am start. i pulled a few all nighters when it was in korea/japan in 2002. easy to do when you are a rising senior in high school in your first month of summer vacation.
