not bad for the NHL but I think this is the result that isn't going to bring the most value for the franchise...sucks for the taxpayers in Glendale

Why, is Seattle going to be a good hockey town? I think not

The proximity to Vancouver and plus it's a cold weather city.

Based on the support the Sounders get and the crowd from the last USA game, I think Seattle will give an NHL team good support. Also getting that team out of Arizona is a good move anyway.

If you ask me is it better than Phoenix I would say yes...but really what kind of track record does Seattle have in terms of supporting a team? I hope that it would work there but who the frick knows...this is the crack management team of Gary Bettman we are talking about...

Quebec City just built a new arena, and they're planning on making a push for the Coyotes, too.

It would be best for the team, but makes me what the frick Bettman et all have been doing the past few years.
The Coyotes should have gone back to Winnipeg instead of the Thrashers, but they were kept in Arizona because Glendale was stupidly paying to keep them around.
If Bettman lets them move now, it's an admission that the league blew it, big time, in their attempts to find an owner willing to keep them there.

Yes. Vancouver and Seattle would have a natural rivalry. They would definitely support the team there, because they only have 2 Pro teams. Seattle has been number 1 on the NHL's list for awhile now.

They can build a new arena all they want, but I think Portland or Hamilton would be after Seattle for a team.

I still don't understand how there isn't a second Toronto team

Great move for the NHL in my opinion. Vancouver, Seattle, Calgary and Edmonton will make for a fun rivalry in the new division set up.
This is a happy day as an Oilers fan

That should help the NHL team. Seattle turned out to be a very good soccer town. I could see this being a hit.

People from Vancouver will likely drive to Seattle to watch games as well. I can really see this working out well. Canadians will go to great lengths to watch hockey.
