TV's Best/Worst Father Figures

The only rules here is that both father/child have to be a central characters. For eg, Shane Vendrell and his son aren't elliglbe because Jackson was a baby. McNulty's sons were barely in the story. Doesn't have to be blood related either.
So best father figure:
Ned Stark
Worst father figure:
1. Arlo Givens- only at the #1 spot because of his outright hatred of his son AND his many attempts to have his son killed or betrayed. Tywin Lannister is father of the year compared to him.

I don't think you've seen Justifed. Lannister refused on several occasions to kill Tyrion, fought a war for his children. Arlo makes Tywin Lannister look like Father Knows Best.

I've seen Justified and I agree, Arlo is a complete POS.
However, TL went to war over family honor, NOT because of his kids. You can see he hates Tyrion, but he could not let the Lannisters suffer the slight.

The father in beasts of the southern wild had issues, like mental/ physical medical issues. He wasn't great but he was trying.

Close second to those two would be Sandy from The OC, biggest baller on that show.

Shawn's dad on BMW was pretty shitty if I remember correctly (been ages since I saw it)
I forget his name, but Sandy's wife's dad was a major dickhead in The OC.
