I bought a new echo weedeater last week. I flip it over and use it as an edger.
I'm not a fan of a bunch of attachments either but then again I already have most tools. That may be the reason.

how well does that work for you? that has definitely crossed my mind. That being said i'd still need to pick up a blower... Echo has a package that has the weed eater/blower combo for $299.
