Why that is? He's alright. Never seen him live though...

no need to have low expectations. he's good live. It's not going to be a broadway show or anything, but he's good. I think he's best live when he does his solo acoustic stuff.

I've liked enough of his stuff to know I enjoy it rolling down I-12, but I find when I go to show I tend to prefer more of a Honky-Tonk or Hip-Hop drinking and dancing environment.
It's not that I won't enjoy it, it just won't be a Rockin kind of night .. at least that's my expectation.

that's probably pretty accurate. I've seen him do an acoustic show with one other guy and it was pretty low-key. Great show though

Wow. That was a pleasant surprise .. the best laid-back show I've ever seen.
Lotta threads on this Board, "Where'd country music go?" .. last night I saw it.
Oh, and there was a little bit dancin and jukin.

Chris is definitely mad at the world. But I think that's what allows him to write such good tunes.

It gives him a little different perspective, to be sure.

When he played the Red Dragon in BR, I was talking to him after the show and I asked him if he liked playing is small places like the Dragon. He just responded with, "I hate this fricking town." Then he thanked me for coming out to the show

I saw him do a solo acoustic show early last year. He was telling stories and it was hilarious. He didn't seemed too pissed. He does seem pretty pissed in the songs.

He kind of has a Steve Earle view of the world..... In other words he hates it

more of an apathy to the crowd. He started the show by singing a song. Then he sang for 2 hours. Then he walked off stage; point being he never once introduced himself, the band or addressed the audience in any fashion.
But then again, several of the songs he sang reeked with real passion, a love for what he had written and was singing.
It's as if he played more for himself than the audience, which was cool. It was interesting.

yep
exactly the same as when I saw him
Of course, for the most part, I don't know these people and don't need them to stand up there and interact with me, I just want to hear their songs.
I really enjoyed his show when I went
