Well last night I got to go down to the set and watch them blow some shite up. Gunshots, explosions and they even had a tank run down Common toward Rampart.

I didn't get to see the tank because I had to take my son back inside to go to sleep.

We heard the first explosion in my apartment and had to get down there to see another. Any of y'all out there?

Wish I could go and look around during actual filming. Their stuff is everywhere downtown and making my life hell any time I need to park around City Hall.

I saw the set yesterday as I was leaving work downtown, but I didn't realize that was the movie it was for.

Anyone know if the movie will actually be set in New Orleans?

For some reason I get slightly irritated when a city makes all these accommodations for a film shoot and then the thing is set in some other place.

I'm going to be an extra that's part of the human colony Saturday. I'll give you the scoop. I hope to see Andy Serkis or Gary Oldman. It will be cool to see the Weta people in action too. Only problem is it's set in SF where its cool and I have to wear a jacket in the 100 LA heat!

They said don't bring a phone because "it's in 3d and will stand out". Please. I'm not sitting during all the down time with no phone. I'm sure they just don't want you to take pictures of the actors.

Well considering you are going to be in a movie that takes place after humanity has begun to be wiped out by a virus, I doubt they want to have some guy on in the background playing Angry Birds while humanity is fighting for its survival while also fighting back the rise of superintelligent primates.

Just a thought.

Of course I'm not going to have it out during the shoot. I'm talking when we are in holding during a 14 hour day in the catering tent.

They probably don't want to hold onto it when they have to get you into make-up and then on screen and crap. Also probably don't want to deal with spoilers leaking out (This was a HUGE problem with TDKR).

I already tried my costume on. It has pockets and it doesn't leave an imprint like a wallet would when in my side pocket of the jacket. Luckily this isn't like the old school Ape movies. No way am I wearing a loin clothe.
