1). What type of hat do you wear (if it's something other than a baseball cap)

2). What's the best way to clean non-baseball style hats?

I have a cheap straw Stetson that I've been wearing for a while, but it's starting to get unbearable, even for a work hat. Don't want to simply toss it, so I'm wondering if anyone has any quick/unique tips for cleaning something similar (other than Lysol )

Don't work outside every day but if I did, I'd have the same hat I use on my boat twice a week.

Tilley T2.

Got it in the washing machine as we speak.

Greatest hats ever made.

I wash my caps in the dishwasher with a Cap Shaper.

Used to be a hard hat.

When I worked on the farm it was a regular baseball cap. Never washed em, just threw them away when they got too nasty.

Regular baseball cap--not the wool ones

If you are relatively stationary like driving a tractor straw hats are money.

This and the more you wash them, the better they get. Really.

Full brim hard hat with a ratchet strap. I clean the band with alcohol prep pads from the first aid kit about once a week and replace the whole liner when it gets too nasty.

What about something like this for you? Something you can throw in the washer with your dirty work clothes

I normally just wear a baseball cap but am looking for a good wide brim hat. Right now I am using a cheap straw hat from Academy and will jsut toss it if it gets too dirty or tears up.

Why would you were a baseball cap when there are fishing hats that are so light they make it feel like you have A/C on your head?

The one a few posts above is ideal.
