Look at what I just caught

Went to let out one of my dogs and this was walking across my yard. Had to come from my pond being still wet. Guess she was out for a walk to go lay some eggs. I'm going to let her go. She is only around 10 lbs. That is a half 55 gal drum.

With the right paint it will stay for years. I know a lot of folks who do that to measure growth.

I painted a small box type turtle when I was about six. Almost every year we would see it by the barn. I would repaint. Came around for almost ten years. Maybe returning to lay eggs.

I'm about to go turn an alligator snapping turtle loose in a safe area. It's about 12 inches across but they get so big I figured I'd give someone a shot at a monster down the road.
A common snapper though, 5 lbs or bigger and they get ate.

I'm just not up to cleaning it. Beside, she was looking to lay. Not a fan of picking them up off the ground at this time of the year.
