Just watched it on Netflix. Great movie, did climax had me on the edge of my seat. But about the ending how in the world did Jake Gyllenhaal not die?

I don't know but for some reason that movie had me tense throughout.

Tense all the way through. I swear I thought the white girl was going to shoot herself or something when she was videoing while he was sleeping.

That movie was just intense. The epilogue was manipulative as hell. Somebody was cutting onions in the movie theater when I was there.

Watched it last night on Instant. It was pretty good. I thought JG was a goner too. Especially after the Latino girl shot at them again.
I knew that ending was coming though. My only complaint was that I thought the Latino gang members were terrible actors. Especially Mr. Evil dude saying "frick" every other word in their little Messican van. I lol'd irl when he would speak.
But I thought Jake & Michael's performances were awesome.

Entertaining enough movie and the leads were great. The scenes with the Mexicans were awful like someone else said. I heard the director say he originally wanted to make the entire movie like a blair witch found footage movie and I was pretty astounded he was going to do that. That would have been a complete joke.

My main gripe about the movie is how it was shot. It's like they tried to do the videoed by the characters thing, then decided that's stupid, let's have multiple cameras but still make it look like it's a home movie thing.
Why even make it a point to have Jake G's character video things?

I wouldn't have had a problem with it if they didn't try to work in Jake G filming things and then just abandon it later.
I mean one of the first scenes was Jake putting hidden cameras on himself and his partner. It's like the wanted to do the first person camera/security footage thing and then just said forget it when they realized they couldn't get every shot they wanted.

I think they were just trying at the beginning to get you accustomed to the handheld type POV, work it into your little noggin there, then seamlessly transition to where you're just used to it now later on in the movie and just subconsciously accept the fact that is how it's shot, with no real purpose behind it.
Or this
