Fox Sports South reports the Falcons and free agent DT Richard Seymour are engaged in contract talks.
The Falcons are in win-now mode, and Seymour, at the age of 33, is likely only interested in playing for a contender. The four-time Pro Bowler has also been training in the Atlanta area this offseason, and he went to Georgia. Seymour, at 6-foot-6, 310, would bring some much needed beef to the interior of the Falcons' defensive line. The Falcons are up against the cap, but some money will be freed up in June due to Tyson Clabo's post-June 1 release designation. May 23 - 8:29 PM

he would be a good addition for a year or two

Great size for a DT. He'd really help out the run defense

gonna suck when you guys get bounced in the 1st round and you realize half the roster is collecting social security.

The Falcons are not fricking around anymore, they are going all in for a Super Bowl title at this point. Nothing short of an appearance will be a disappointment for them.

This...hopefully it goes the way of the Eagles for them.

Matt Ryan > Michael Vick. So no.

To me there is more pressure on the Saints.

What if cold hard truth is...that even when Payton comes back....The Saints are just a shitty football team? (By their standards)

You'll have no excuses if the Saints season goes 7-9 again...

I think there is a hell of a lot more pressure on the number one seeded 13-3 team who blew a 21 point lead at home to go the Super Bowl.

Chances of that are pretty small. They may only win 10 games (as I think the Falcons will hover around as well) but they're not just going to fall off the map. I think people are really overlooking just how horrific the defensive fit was last year (we've since moved back to a more attacking scheme AND upgraded linebackers, cb, and hopefully safety from our middle of the road 09-11 Ds). Throw in no continuity on offense, no head coach holding anyone accountable, and a complete cluster frick from the top down and they were a late game collapse against KC from being 8-8. Sean Payton is a top 3 coach in the league. He will get it fixed. Anyone who disagrees is kidding themselves.

now go run along back to your bandwagon Heat fans

I honestly don't see any way the falcons don't win the division...just way more talent than everyone else in the NFC South

Y'all might have slightly better talent overall but the saints are much better coached and we have this guy named drew Brees who is one of the best QBs in football and the best leader in the game. That plus an improved defense makes the falcons chances of winning the division 50/50 at best. And I'm trying to be generous.
