When a BREC course does their green aerification, why don't they topdress after? It appears some attempt but not near as much as needed? Is it money? Man power? Lack of knowledge? Thanks, ill hang up and listen.

These guys do it right

I played SM on Monday and the greens were not in bad shape! How fast do you think green heal from being punched?!

They were fast enough for having been punched 3 days after the fact.

It was a pretty shoddy punch job though.

Maybe so. They punched them two weeks ago.

I know it takes about a month for them to return to normal. I've played 3 times since they punched them and I can't say I noticed where they sanded properly. Hopefully this rain will help the recovery. It was dry as could be out there yesterday too.

I drove by WGV on Monday and they were punching the fairways on one of the courses. I stopped for a few minutes to watch how efficiently a team of 10-15 people was taking care of them.

Why don't you think they were topdressed well?

Just wondering as a turf grass student.

Usually they stay really bumpy bc the holes don't have enough sand in them to level it off

That's probably what he was talking about

They aren't accounting for the sand settling, etc. Each hole has sand in it, but it's still a pegboard.

This is what they should look like, but is not what they looked like at S.M. two weeks ago.

Like Golfer said, they must have been drunk when they did them..
