Question about lifetime license

It says on the WLF website that a copy of a valid drivers license issued a minimum of 12 months is necessary. What if you just renewed your license? Am I screwed? I am moving soon and need to get this done before I move.

I don't think they mean renewal liscense. I think they just mean you've had a liscense in the state for longer thatn a year.

Not an issue. I bought my 3 month old sons license at Christmas.

I think it means that you need to have been a citizen of that state for at least a year. And you can use your license as proof.
your license should have an issued date on it, which is when you would have initially gotten that type of license in that state.
All that to say, if youve been licensed in that particular state for more than a year, you will be fine, even if you just renewed your license

Even though they ask for a copy? Drivers License has the issue date on it.

You understand that buying a hunting license for someone that cannot get a driver's license has different rules. Also, I think you just get a certificate at that age and cannot get the license until you pass a hunter's safety course.

Did you renew with the sticker on the back or a new license?
Do you have a the old one with a hole punched through it?
I wouldn't think you 'd have a problem, go down there and give it a try.

I renewed by mail and they sent me a new license instead if a sticker.

Yes, I have one and have bought all three of my kids one. The point is, there are other ways to show proof of residence.

Correct. I bought a life time hunt/fish license for all three of my kids. You get the certificate till they pass the hunter safety course.
To the OP you will be fine with your newly renewed license. If it has the sticker on the back just make a copy of the back on the same page. I had to do that when i bought my lifetime crab trap license. I have both hunting/fishing and crab trap lifetime licenses.

It's not a sticker, the start sent me a brand new license. Anyway, I called and they said they can look it up to varify I have been a resident longer than a year.

I wish they would have had these when we left in '89. I hate having to buy out of state fishing license every year. They have a native born duck hunting license, I wish they would have went across the board with that concept.

Supposedly at some point this year a bill Jindal signed will allow lifetime license holders to put the endorsement on their driver license so that you have one less thing to carry around.

They link your DL to your LHL. When they check your DL they will be able to determine at that time whether it was a renewal or just issued.
