Thinking about going to Venice this weekend, for specks and reds. The weather says east winds 10/15, seas 2/3', not great. Anybody have any reports? Or should I just go to Hoover?

Will be down there at the camp with the family from Fri-Mon. Reds are everywhere. Specs are starting to show up in their summer spots. Buddy last weekend had 50 trout one day with some in the 4-5 lb range.

No kidding. It hurts to have to watch-today will be worse if the weather allows him to go out because his hot wife is supposed to be going along-that's really going to really bring the pain of being left out.

River is at 14 foot on the Carrilton guage... There are fish to be caught, but there is a lot of muddy water down there right now, you just have to know where to go and when... a lot has to do with wind direction and strength.
If you have said knowledge there are always fish to catch in Venice, be right now it's not as easy as in late summer early fall.

This is my concern. I used to fish Venice a lot, haven't been much since Katrina. Taking my wife and she's a bit timid so with the high water and wind just wondering if time & money would be better spent doing something else??????????
