i won the cobia/ling/lemon fish division once and had to sign a document when my fish was weighed stating that "yes, i caught it on a rod and reel" and consenting to a polygraph, that never happened. also, the STAR tourney banquet is a really good time!

Any of ya'll ever won anything in the STAR or known someone who has?

I caught one a week late, but I wasn't registered, so I'm kinda glad the tourney was over.

Anyone know where they release the reds.

Yes. Several posters on here tag or know the guys that tag and release the Star redfish. They are released in every imaginable spot along the coast. From what I know they are typically 17-20 inch fish...not bulls. And they are usually caught close to where released. They are typically released along the coast...not far inland.

it was quoted as $2,500 offshore package. when i added up the cost of what i went home with it came out to a little over $3,000. i can scratch together a list if you want item by item.

They're suppsedly released fairly close to land.

Eta: you have to submit to a poly test anyway, if you've cheated you will more than likely get caught

I caught mine on a little piece of broken marsh in Venice. Coincidence that I was with some CCA guys?

There will be some on the inside in Terrebonne parish. They are released in some very popular places.

This thread should probably be deleted. Anyone that catches a tagged fish will be cross-checked to this thread.

Why? No locations are given, past history of catch locations are widely published. I scratch my head as to why some aren't caught. It's a testament to how good of shape our red fishery is in.

You have been reported. Expect a call.

I'm with you though. The amount of redfish in the water is amazing. I was on the Island this weekend and there are more small trout down than I have ever seen. It was stupid. 5-1 undersized fish. I know they are catching nice trout up the waterway but I had to stay close to the camp.

Nothing wrong with this thread. I was just wondering if I'm going to catch one in the duck ponds I fish because I don't get outside bays very much.
