The point that a lot of teams would want Gattis is a good one. We could probably get some good l handers in the pen. I dont want to see him go but we would have to make sure we are re signing MacCan

Yes. I'd much rather have his bat and ability to play several positions than another relief pitcher that may pitch a few innings a week.

I say we wait and see how our bullpen pans out before thinking about trading anyone, let alone gattis. What if we traded gattis then avilan and varvaro were lights out? Or traded him then we lose bmac to free agency? Is bethancourt ready?

The Weird Beard is available in free agency. Got to be worth a tryout at a minimum. Might be able to convince him to sign up for the rest of the year on an incentive-laden deal as a in-season showcase for next year's FA period.

Mac is gone next year, Gattis is our future at catcher...we'll be fine in the BP...when Beachy gets back, one of our six starters will go to the bullpen
